This is, quite simply, a bad ass car.

Hope they build it.

I think the outside design with the little winglets etc is expeptionally cool, however, the interior is disaaaaaster!

I hope none of it makes it to production. Mind you, the handbrake does look like a 'classic' touch - going back to the '70s!!

I like the interior.
A car like this SHOULD have a ridiculous interior.
I agree.

My main problem with the interior is the humongous MPH number staring you in the face.

The few times I have driven in cars that display numbers instead of a dial it drove me nuts because it's very distracting every time it changes by 1 mph. It should have an option to switch between the numerical and a simulated dial.

That has to be the laziest rendering of seats I have ever seen!

Congratulations to SSC for producing an interior as exciting and innovative as the exterior. Once again, the engineering culture in Washington State produces the future rather than just recycling the same old designs and calling them new.

Quite agree - styled by Lego.

I think the Corvette and Viper proved that, not to mention the Shelby Cobra Daytona coupe beating Ferrari to win the championship and the Ford GT40 winning LeMans four times in a row...

And, FFS, the name is pronounced "Two-Ah-Tah-Rah"- that's four syllables.

How should you pronounce Tuatara?

It it more Twotara or ttara ?
Tu-a-ta-ra

Begs the question: why would you name a supercar after one of the slowest and least active animals on the planet? I'm looking forward to their next model - the SCC Galapogas Tortise.

If you look at Fisker Karma, you can see the influence of DB9. They were done by the same designer. But one is a saloon, the other is a GT coupe. One was designed and built in the US, and the other was all done in the UK.
And with a keystroke history is abandoned. The Fisker Karma is built in Finland currently.

Bit of a controversy in the usa too for being made overseas and have received a significant government loan.

A 6.8 litre forced induction V8 producing 1350hp that revs to 9,200rpm?!
Will believe that when I see it.

Beautiful exterior though, would love to see it make production.
Interior looks fine in red, hideous in white.
They're already selling the Ultimate Aero with 1200 odd. Not much of a jump.

So many remarks, and no one made a comment about the 7 gates for the manual transmission in the red interior? If that links to a gear in every slot... then Porsche isn't the only one to offer a 7 speed manual.

I don't care what the interior look like, If I bought one, I'd be going so fast, it's the last thing I'd be gawping at. Like the exterior though, it's what the Macca should've looked like. Drive both done your local high street, and I know which will be gawped at the most.

Never read that it revs to anywhere near 9,200rpm though! Is it going to be overhead cam or pushrod? I know NASCAR pushrods can rev to 10k, but never heard of a production road engine doing so.

according to the mph readout on the right hand side the car was going 275mph whilst that photo was taken, is this not a tad dangerous considering no one appears to be holding the wheel?

From the SSC website. 1350bhp @ 6,800 rpm. Max rpm is 9,200 rpm. No idea if the bhp keeps rising beyond 6,800. No mention of pushrod or ohc. No bore or stroke given, so I can't work out max rpm.

Given that I'm pretty sure that's a rendering, it's just a computer game so who cares ? smile

"What's your latest car then?"

"The ttterer"

I'm liking it more already

7 gates would, I'd have thought, equate to six plus reverse?
