what I was thinking, since they can build new "old" model cars, they now also could build say a LHD T350c me thinks...

Or cheaper (wich suits me better) do a conversion to a existing T350c from RHD to LHD and also drop in the LS3, the 480hp version...
The dash etc can be the same as from the LHD Sagaris cars, they must have the molds.

So bring in a used car then do the engine conversion and RHD to LHD conversion (EU version), what would that cost drive in drive out.

Well not to sound too much of an old git but . . . Why are companies like TVR (or Land Rover etc) sold off to foreign parties anyway? Surely with a lack of British manufacturing jobs all these companies should remain here and under British ownership , our car companies have been sold off as tat just to have the technology removed and sold on. I can never believe that while MG/Rover went to the wall (dont get me wrong, their products were far from the best) our local authority vehicles are German (Mercedes police vans and BMW cars, MAN trucks for gritting, Mercedes buses in London !!) Why? Why did British gas have a fleet of Renault vans, why is the local Mayor here using an Audi A8?
British companies lacked investment that surely would have been generated had every government and local Government vehicle been at least British made, instead our companies are run into the ground and sold off.Have you ever been to France,Germany or Italy and seen them using a none home produced vehicle for police or local authority? Peter Wheeler should setting up a new company producing a newer re named TVR, iron out the bugs (but keep the character). Remember that the Japanese car and bike industries started off by copying other peoples designs and technology, can this country not now do the same until we have a creditable manufacturing base? Its easy to forget what dreadful cars the Audi's, BMW's and VW's were in the 60's and early 70's (2nd generation Audi 100? rust, rust, vicious over steering BMW's and swing axle Mercedes) Seat ? Skoda ? all relative crap yet now due to investment and clever marketing they are all classed as desirable.
Anyway I'm getting off my soapbox, turning off the Elgar and off to polish my Japanese motorcycle while looking at my French car and wondering if my Swedish flat packed furniture will fit in the boot . . . . . Where did it all go wrong?

That might be a tad difficult, to be fair. At this moment in time, It's unlikely that TVR will be fully functional again, let alone Mr Wheeler.

Jesus Christ. Is this what PH has become? It used to be a site for car enthusiasts.

If Peter Wheeler were to set up a new company today, he'd probably spend most of his time shuffling around with his arms outstretched saying "braaaaaaaaiiinnnns"

wink

According to that site, TVR Limited's registered address is on an industrial estate in Woodley (near Reading). Whilst, from a purely selfish point of view, that's a lot more convenient for me than Blackpool, it does beg the question 'what the hell is there?'! I'm assuming it's just a coincidence of acronyms... scratchchin

Pick a company, any company.

The company that we knew as TVR Cars ended up as "Blackpool Automotive Ltd." before it was wound up and its various debts written off (including rather inconvenient redundancy payments for its staff).
There's a whole liturgy of similar companies that have existed at various times - TVR Engineering Ltd., TVR Cars Ltd., etc etc.

Then there are wholly unrelated companies such as Thames Valley Racing Ltd. whose initials just happen to be "TVR".

So just because you have found a company called "TVR Limited" doesn't necessarily mean it has anything to do with Smolenski. Although, of course, it may do.

TVR van rental are based in Reading. Could be them.

On the upside you can rent a T350 from them at very cheap rates.

Another thing that's amusing if you're a fan of the Dune film

Paul: What do you call the mouse shadow on the second moon?
Stilgar: We call that one Muad'Dib.
Paul: Could I be known as Paul Muad'Dib?
Stilgar: You are now Paul Muad'Dib![3]

Stilgar explains why the choice of "Muad'Dib" pleases the Fremen:

Muad'Dib is wise in the ways of the desert. Muad'Dib creates his own water. Muad'Dib hides from the sun and travels in the cool night. Muad'Dib is fruitful and multiplies over the land. Muad'Dib we call 'instructor-of-boys.' That is a powerful base on which to build your life, Paul Muad'Dib, who is Usul among us

and the email address:

tvr@muadib.eu

Spooky, huh

Not really spooky. Just means he's read the books.

Having said that, I went for an interview with a company called Crunchy Frog Ltd. once and when I asked who was the Monty Python fan was greeted with blank looks and a mumbled "uh, I guess it must be one of the Directors". smile

My guess, seeing as he went to an English public school and from earlier photos of him was a little bit small and ratty that it was the nickname given to him:

1. Maudib 4 up, 18 down
Noun: An extremely sensitive, but hairy hobbit like creature affected by an acute genetic condition that generally affects the lower half of the body. Symptoms may include general shrinkage of male organs, wearing of a maid's outfit, dropping off the face of the Earth, and the total and irreversible loss of all HALO skill.
