That was the green Sag made by TVR when they were in a shed.
Finished off and polished up in the shed... anywayDonkeyApple said:
I'm under the impression that this is a Tuscan made when TVR gave up on using sheds and began work from a rehab clinic in Austria instead.
How do you square that with:Tvr Power said:
MK3 Tuscan Factory build ... Dom
Do you think that Dom considers the Austrian stuff to be factory built? Did they ship the jigs out to Austria and were they then in a fit state to be used? (I don't know.)Are you there Dom?
The new venture stuck in the LS and the retrim etc as part of their 'Recreation' ambitions?
I certainly don't believe it is a wholly new car just one that was never completed.
Still interested at what point it gained its new model name.

all Jigs and fixtures have been scrapped by NS
Wait... WHAT? Jesus, talk about the Aesop Fable of "The dog in the Manger".
For Tvr to move forward they would have to produce a totally new design car, this could happen if someone put a minimum 50 million on the table…

If there not being built what’s the point in storing old moulds that have stood 7 yrs, jigs and fixtures that are rusty and not complete electrical components damp & corroded.
They could have been sold to someone actually interested in providing spares and support for the older cars. Especially the body moulds. Tvr Power said:

On a side note would it be possible to make new moulds using an existing body? (Not that anyone would be willing to let the body of their car be used for this).

Not worth doing if a Tvr requires a full body or chassis after a mishap she’s scrap!
Debatable. back in the 90's my father had a heavy shunt in a 400SE and it was economically viable for it to go back to the factory, have the body off, have the chassis re-jigged on the chassis jigs, and then put back together again. With the value and rarity of the Sagaris that could still be true.
The case for the body moulds is even stronger as body panel damage isn't a case of "full body or nothing". If you have a shunt from the rear (ooer missus) then you're going to want a new rear end and without the moulds that's going to be difficult.

Its was offered but no one showed interest.
I'm stunned by that. Were they put up for auction, or was it a case of "This is the price I want. Pay or I destroy them"?JonRB said:

It would have all been junk.
Jigs can be made, so can moulds and electrics have probably moved on and better solutions are available off the shelf.
My guess is that the biggest risk to our cars and many classics is the ageing population of the individual specialists who fix and remake/remaster many key parts. There is no industry in which the next generation can learn these crafts and very few have apprentices. Over the next decade or so we will lose a massive level of traditional knowledge and skill.
