Have in mind that Denmark is the country in the world where you pay the most for a car. It's usually three times as much as it would cost in UK and Germany to buy a car regardless of make and model, due to "hypocritical" taxes.
Denmark wants to be the forerunner when it comes to the enviroment, however, the taxes makes it hard for a lot of people to buy a brand new car, letting them get stuck with a 15 year old or more POS-car which obviously isn't near as "green" as a new one.
I should say I'm actually British from London, and when I saw that clip I didn't really listen to the guy and only put the volume up to listen to the car. I've actually been to Denmark and Germany which makes my faux pas even more embarrassing Denmark wants to be the forerunner when it comes to the enviroment, however, the taxes makes it hard for a lot of people to buy a brand new car, letting them get stuck with a 15 year old or more POS-car which obviously isn't near as "green" as a new one.

Evora crossbred with a Cayman.
I really like it, and as long as it gets a suitably sized UK dealer network, and is priced accordlingly, I reckon it'll steal some sales from both marks.
Wouldn't hold your breath. It's been on sale for 3 years and there isn't even a left hooker in Blighty. Don't think the UK market is high on their list of priorities. I actually applaud them for that. They're busy perfecting their product and creating a following. Engineering a car in RHD is probably not part of their road map right now, not until there's sufficient demand at least.I really like it, and as long as it gets a suitably sized UK dealer network, and is priced accordlingly, I reckon it'll steal some sales from both marks.
100kg less than an evora or evora S?
Both have 2 more seats and the S will have much more power and torque plus the option of a manual box, plus a +/-£20k saving. In these terms the Evora S represents good value.
If this thing is being pitched at £85k+ then it is shooting well above the Evora S and closer to an AM Vantage, Audi R8 and 911 4S, which I dont think it comes close to any of.

Price mentioned was in Euros so £76k (ish), still not cheap but very very lovely. And the exclusive cachet of "what is THAT?" Has to be worth a quid or two? Magic thing there is certaily that aspects of parts bin about the car, hell even Gallardo's have that!
Dont care there is a certain finish of design that the Evora cannot match.
Id have one, but by the time it got to Australia and our wonderfull Luxury car tax a Second hand Gallardo would be tempting.
I wish them well and hope they get the reputation they deserve like the other specialist German cars like RUF CTR3 and the Wiesmann GT.
In the mean time what about the Ginetta F350 as a comparison.

Rather liking this.
I wish we, as a nation, could come up with more, similar ventures.
Have to agree, but as a nation we never seem to support such things. The funding just doesn't seem to be there so things that do get funded tend to be done with foreign money in foreign lands, despite the talent being here in the UK I wish we, as a nation, could come up with more, similar ventures.

I think the UK has the heathiest small-volume car industry in the world, doesn't it?

What do you think the Ginetta is then? And various Lotus products, for that matter.

Ginetta is self funded by an enthusiast and Lotus are owned by Koreans.I think the UK has the heathiest small-volume car industry in the world, doesn't it?
Most of our maufacturers are owned by foreign companies which from my reckoning leaves just Morgan and Ginetta who turn out anything in numbers.
ETA Ooops forgot Caterham but even they're foreign owned now.

Lotus produce some good sports cars but I don't know enough about Ginetta to make a worthwhile comment. What I do know is I don't like them - they look a bit tacky and cheap, no flourish or eye-catching nuances to grab my attention. I'm sure they have a passionate following, but they don't do it for me.
This Artega GT however, is very pleasing on the (my) eye and reading the review sounds pretty good. If I had £60k to spend on a sports car it would be on my list. Unfortunately, I'm struggling to justify £6k.

I don't really understand why it matters who owns companies? In practice most are ultimately owned by a variety of shareholders from around the world anyway.
It doesn't, but you replied to a comment I made about money only coming from foreign investors for UK originated projects. I was bemoaning the lack of inward investment from UK investors in UK car projects. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
