What twits making comments here it's funny, everything on the car is used on the curent Lotus being raced ....Maybe you should reread since this is the most powerful Lotus on the road at 680 whp / 750 bhp everything on this car is there for a reason.duhh

Edited by the ronin on Monday 21st November 07:31
Firstly your car is not a Lotus, it is based on a Lotus. (Your modifications being somewhat extensive)
Secondly the Venom GT is significantly more powerful (it also being based on a Lotus).

They only thing I don't like about the Lotus in question is the very apparent extension on the real wheel arch, if that was less obvious, blended somehow, it would be a winner.

Assume the wings, fins, flicflacs etc are there for an aero reason and with that many horses running riot probably a bloody good reason.

I even like the colour for being a little different, there is a modded GTR that roams the streets here the same colour but matt, looks mean as fk.

Ronin, just accept that some people are different, many UK drivers would never choose my 'whip' but it suits me and where I live down to the ground, I do think your ever so slightly hysterical reaction is provoking them a little.

If I am ever anywhere near this beast I would love a pax ride.

To those that don't like it, never ever visit Dubai, I fear there would be some heart attacks!

I haven't read this whole thread, but I have to say you are making yourself sound like a complete tool. A forum is there for people to give their opinions, you have your car at a show, people are going to form opinions on it. Grow up perhaps?

(By the way in case you were wondering, I quite like it, I am merely put of by you)

Duhh it is still the same 2ZZ engine used in all current Exige although strengthened for performance, the suspension is all Lotus as are the brakes, the body is still Lotus with slight modifications and Lotus did the same modifications to their GT3 cars using the same fiberglass flairs.....
Most importantly I say and know it's a street legal Lotus while Hennessey says his Lotus is not.... As for Hennessey's claims of power try and find one video of the car on a dyno and let's see a dyno screen in the video...It ain't gonna happen..

dxbtiger if you are ever in LA let me know and we'll take a little canyon cruise.... I'm not posting to make butt buddies just gettin the facts straight

Surely though in a car like that 750bhp is far too much power. I know I wouldn't drive it, I would probably end up killing my self. But that light how much of that power can it actually get down? Or does it just spin it all away in a cloud of smoke?

It's compleatly predictable since there is no turbo lag. I can't get the tires to smoke in first gear since there is so much torque that they will just spin until I back off enough to let them hook up and then it takes off like a sling shot... So burn outs are not it's forte I can live with that..

How else are you supposed to "smoke the tires"?

Wow, what a lively bunch of posts.

Mad looking car and even madder performance. Which has to be a good thing. I for one would love to see the creation go against others on a track and know that two people put it together in a scruffy shed. Brill, I'd say.

Well, I think the car is a work of genius. Pragmatic solution to a clearly stated problem: "my Lotus doesn't go fast enough". And now it does. I drive a Subaru so like form-follows-function. I take it the big wing is necessary to keep it from a "Mercedes CLR exit"? I have no plans to be over on the West coast, but if I do I will buy you a beer to toast your car build.

There's nothing wrong with the bodywork of the Lotus (as previously mentioned, the wheel arches are the same as on the race car)...but it's that colour that certainly does it no favours!

So you post a pic of my 680 whp Exige parked alongside an Enzo with the above caption "Tuner Hall the land that taste forgot" .
What are you fukin brain dead or just a a wanna be internet auto journalist ?....What car have you built and drive..?
I'm so disappointed.

I saw the video of your car on the drive network, and you came across as a really decent guy on the video.

But you post like a teenager with an attitude problem and are overly aggressive. People don't like your car. Get over it.

Just because somebody doesn't share the same tastes as you doesn't mean you should go swearing and ranting and go all psycho on us !

Err...?

"can't get the tyres to smoke"
"they will just spin"
Unless they're spinning in mid air, they'll be smoking.

"on most real car forums the guys modify their cars and trade ideas to help each other out"
"What are you fukin brain dead"
That looks like helping, yep.

You put your car at a show where people are going to see it and form opinions on it. Do you think everyone who sees it will love every single aspect of it?

Are the people on this other forum that bereft of original thought they think everything done by everyone is "Cool man!"? Honestly, I'd hate to be in a place like that.

I like others opinions, so long as I can engage with the people with negative/differing opinions and explore *why*. Knowing why they think the way they do just gives me more possible avenues to explore the next time I do something. ('possible' as I may disagree with everything they think!)

It's perfectly fair to rebuke criticism that isn't backed up with reason, it's also normal behavior to accept sensible criticism with dignity - note "accept" doesn't mean you have to suddenly agree with them, or that your original way of doing whatever is bad, it's just a different opinion. It doesn't mean you have to to immediately go out and spray it yellow or something!

Opinions are subjective, not objective.

Perhaps you should.

No he isn't.

The car isn't visually to my taste, but his forceful defence of its qualities has been both a very entertaining read and informative (in terms of substantiating that it's NOT visually tarted up).

I've enjoyed this thread more than most.......

As many here may know the car was punted off the road by a bonehead in a Porsche and the totally bhin bodywork is now toast.
It will now become the only street legal 211 here in the states with a modified body to accommodate the 245/16 and 345/18 tires for the needed grip it will need with a 400 lb. lighter setup to carry around plus a few more ponies for fun.
If you liked it before I think you will like it even more when I'm done with it...
