I wonder if this'll drive up the prices of used TVRs?

Don't sell yours just yet!

Oh dear!

Another, real-life example of someone turning a large amount of money into a small one through the purchase of a car company. A pity that it's through sheer ignorance in this case and the victim is TVR: Poor Peter Wheeler must be spinning in his grave. frown

... probably got his money back (and then some) when he sold to NS at a time that the company long had become unsustainable in that shape and form, and has had a ball doing what he liked best for 23 years. What's not to like?

64 is no age to die, though - but as a whole I think TVR has been quite good to PW. smile

It would be better than the Porsche that people will spend £100k on.

Has the idiot in charge done absolutely no market research whatsoever? I mean you would just buy the 'Vette with the same engine and save yourself about £50k. With that £50k you can buy yourself a nice daily driver.....like an F355 !!!

Oi. Us Chimaera owners have feelings too! biggrin Still £100k is madder than an entire quota of frogs in a huge bag!

So, will £100k get you a TVR with the same build quality as a Porsche 993 or early 90s Mercedes?

Or will you get a TVR with glued things unglueing themselves and bootlids that decide not to open, rotting carpet and cars that just stop for no apparent reason?

I can't get too interested in the new fabrications- there might be a couple of europeans with more money than sense who will lay out £100k.
Formalising the LS upgrade options is welcome, as more and more proper TVR's need major surgery having proper options for keeping them on the road is a good thing.

Fantastic! I now own a "£100k sports car"!

Hmm £100k... would that make my Chim a Supercar?

I guess you go out a buy a completely shagged chimera or tuscan with a blown engine, easy to find for £12k max and then ship it off for option 4 - £30k... beats £100k for a new one.

Or if you want a proper modern tvr then go to Wiesmann in Germany and hand over £100k. its a proper sportscar and built to last.

OTOH people pay that and more for a Wiessmann - of which the basic design was a contemporary of the TVR S-series (and still looks it under all the fizz added in the interim)...

Whether the price is daft or not totally depends on the execution - if they build it to the standard of an Eagle E-Type £100k would be on the cheap side.

Why are price adjustments hilarious?

Lots of companies price lists will state that prices are correct at time of going to press and are subject to alteration without notice.
I know they're commonplace, but when you're charging £100k for £15k of Chimaera and a crate V8, it just seems to be adding insult to injury (IMO).

Made me giggle, any road...

That is the £64, er, £96K question.
