This has been noted. To say we were kept waiting 24 hours for these too is a cause of ... editorial displeasure.

Honda have missed the boat here, this was their forte and bet they're kicking theirselves for not bringing out a sporty rwd coupe like this.
I know their bringing that mugwn crz thing out but that's more of a sporty green hatch to me than this thing which reminds me in many ways of the original integra type r.
I agree

In some ways it's a shame Toyota didn't go 50/50 with Honda as I've not driven many Toyotas with decent engines or gearboxes. Having owned cars from both I think Honda generally know how to make superior engines and some of the best gearboxes around.

ok, I might be going out on a limb here.... but I actually don't mind the wing eek

In the small picture in the article I thought it looked like a joke, and was going to post a comment to this affect, however I clicked on it and viewed it larger, and yes it's OTT, but now you can see the proportions of the car, it sort of works, in an over sized R/C car sort of style.

Really intrigued by this car, and more so the more I read.

What bothers me is the looks - I'm yet to see a pic where it really looks good and these shots do it no favours. Just a teensy bit too Hyundai Coupe for my tastes.

Ultimately though, £25k places it in such a nearly new sweet spot of choice that I'm just not sure if I could part with the cash for this over a Cayman or similar. Since the advent of the Boxster/350Z/TT et al, there's just so much good choice in this part of the market.

You can't see it when you're inside it, and inside it is probably the best place to be with a car like this, I imagine. Just don't drive past any mirrors.

I suspect the S2000 would probably be a reasonable model for depreciation, in which case about 8-9k?

True. I really like the Panamera for the way it drives and the cabin, despite it being hideously bloated from the outside.

I can't be alone in wanting Toyota to launch the bloody thing.

This must rival the bloody Evoque for a slow release.

You wish. That thing has been around for so long it feels like the facelift is due in January.

Evoque?

Tell me about it.

Bit bored with it now to be honest...

I am unsure weather I like these or not. The more I read about it, the more I am confused. The comments about it looking like a Hyundai, well, I actually like that about it, but kind of think that the hyundai looks better. My taste I guess. Performance and econemy figures look sweet and real world to me, which is good. Garlicks comment about getting a Caymen/911 does seem a more attractive prospect, however, a used on of these for less...Now there is a car I would like.

Nice review.

I think the german car makers are so obsessed with Euro policies that they'll never make a car like this. It appears Italy, Japan and the US is where we're most likely to get cars such as these from.

I want one.

... Serious question for the test driver. Will it fit all 6'8" of me?

i'd like to echo this, I'm 6'5" so car choices are often limited for me by the sheer length of my legs - for example I'll never own an Elise unless I could get a custom altered seat or something!

Best comparisons are my mk2 MR2 is fine (though hardly roomy), however when I drove a mk1 MX5 I had to fit a 300mm steering wheel & even then it was unpleasant, I physically drove the thing but I wouldn't be able to hoon in it.

I'm also interested in the rear seat space if you happened to take a look at it. There are conflicting reports, some reviews saying it's for small kids or parcels only, others saying adults can comfortably sit in the back even if only for short journeys. Care to shed any light?

Oh bugger, posted on the wife's account. OwenK here.

Sounds fantastic fun, but that price tag....

Even taking the offical figures with a pinch of salt, impressive economy too.
