Maybe I'm just a young buck, but I like it.

The car looks amazing, the market segment works for me and the collaboration with the producer will work for Lotus.. can't see much wrong with it.

Maybe we need a PH special edition of something... a Tory blue Mx 5 or something?

Appearing in a Jason Z video is one thing.....creating a desperate marketing video dreamt up by Marketing types with an unknown rapper is definately not cool, big, or clever.

Your use of the word 'market segment' sums it up for me....they appear to be trying to market the thing so hard, it just looks a little (in the voice of alan partridge) SA-A-AAD.

This is ridiculous! I can officially say that Lotus has become a joke! Somebody please make it English again. Nobody gives a st about a Swiss Beats Edition!!

I think the marketing plan is to get it into some hip-hop videos so that 19 year olds that watch them and can't really afford a Lotus can go steal one! Genius!!

This video is surely contravenes the European Human Rights Act?

On a more serious point I wonder on what experience Lotus is basing its current strategy on. Has any other car manufacturer or even brand pursued a similar approach?

Lotus may as well drop stamping chassis numbers on their cars. Each car could be identified by the Lotus press release it featured in.

Car itself is brilliant (not sure on that wing)
No idea who this swiss beats guy is and I'm in my mid twenties (I presume that's his target audience?).
I reckon jonnyfive has all his albums though hehe

I like the way it looks but if that is a wrap, I wouldn't buy it. Why would I want a car still in the packet? Like the colour though if it is paint.

I want to say turning in his grave. But more likely he's doing it in a Jamiroqai stylee and going deeper underground....

I like that colour scheme, somehow it works.

Can't watch the video at work, so can't comment any further!

I think Mr Beatz would have said, "That's a blessing. Now we all need to show more luurvve....".

A Jamiroquai tie-in would have made much more sense (in relative terms, of course! hehe) At least Jay Kay is a bona fide Petrol Head, not some numbskull R&B cruiser smokin

The hip hop industry has been very influential with regards to "advertising" cars in their music videos. Like it or not such product placement is perfect for the aspirational youth.

Howver: There s a difference between "unannounced product placement" and this very public tie in. I can not see any other artist wanting to use this car in their videos because they would also be promoting Mr Beatz (sic).

Yeah, but "interesting" cars. I don't think I've yet seen the dullsville Evora in one.

Lotus are making the product placement journey from Desperate Housewives to just plain Desperate!

Well with the preference for VBRJ on PH I think I might have spelt it correctly!
