It's been a while since I last saw this video, but it never fails to impress me. Dare I say that the engine note is on par with a BDA?!

Wow. Not heard one of those before - truly epic noise! Would have loved to watch one of those go racing back in the day!

Also, speaking of Gan San / Best Motoring / Epic sounding engines...

Tell me about it! he is all about the weight as he wants to track it apparently and already had the fully built SR sitting around.

With the relocation of some parts to the back, including a new fuel cell etc that he will need to fit and the overall weight of the car, Id say that he could easily sort any balance issues out. As for being tracked, unless he is going to drift it, a 500hp RB is going to be a lot better on the track than a 500hp SR which is going to have massive hole low in the rev range.

And lets not start on the fac that the RB gearboxes can take more punishment than Sr boxes.

Each to their own and all that.

Great thread on a Hakosuka rebuild here. Be warned - you might lose a few hours if you get into it...

Great car, now I know where the Boso Cars get their "slopppy oil-line/cooler up front" inspiration.

Very much agree, I think the choice is more to do with what he has. Either way I think its going to be a wicked little car! He is using an OS 88 6-Speed Sequential, so the weak SR gearbox is no problem.
