torque steer is only noticeable to people who have NEVER been in the car, they just see the stats ans assume its going to have torque steer.
i've had my 3mps for 2 years now, no isuues with torque steer here, you could probably ask every mps owner and they will give you the same response.
bare in mind most motoring journalists like to make sensationalised statements to make them sound more interesting, and the rest of the people are just casting aspersions.
256bhp standard with 280lbft torque means just one thing, fun!
buy one, and start enjoying your driving again.

Well as this thread has been revived I'll add my two pence worth. Two of my workmates have just bought one of these each, both a year old, one standard, one mapped by Litchfield to 300bhp. We went for a drive to mid Wales a few weeks ago, they were keen to show off their new toys. I was quite impressed with the pace of the standard car, however the mapped car had some serious pace, overtaking other cars it was ballistic.
Oh ffs.
Just when I'd put these to the back of my mind, got The Wife to agree to me having a '40's american pickup as a daily and a new beetle for her, this topic comes up again.
I'd convinced myself that they were a bad idea because the torque steer would probably be a pain in the ass.

Take it out for a drive and see how you feel, understand if you want it gone with a little one in the house after what happened.I've had the Stage 3 done now by BBR, so even with 350bhp & 375lb/ft i only get the slightest torque steer on a poor road or if its wet, even then it's not much.

Not with BBR, cars just clicked over 77k miles, i first got tuned on 15k, though i've just slapped a big turbo to it and i'm using a Cobb AP.
I take it from your user name you also post on the MPS thread on the type r forum?!Our MKII MPS is now out of warranty so tempted to look into a remap of sorts. I quite like the idea of taking it to BBR who just do it all in one go, a bit like TDI North did with our other car (type r).
Have you and any reliability issues since increasing the power / torque?
