Scirroco R? A little bit more and a Golf R?
Evo X?
Can't get my head around £30k+ for this.
In the cold light of day, I personally wouldn't got for the Evo X or Impreza WRX STI.Evo X?

I've only read good things about the Golf R, it's better than any GTI and in the right colour can be as understated as any other model in the range.
Compare it to a Megane 250 or even the 265, it's not that much more expensive. It's a much better product in terms of build quality and materials used, plus it's got all wheel drive. A GTI with a few options makes less sense imo.

yeh it is a lot when you can get a new 135i for that. As much as i like this car its not enough of an improvement over the Edition 30 if i was going to blow 30k on a golf it would need to be the top of the range, the R.
No doubt the 135i is a fine car (a favourite of mine in fact), but once you spec one up to the same level as the Golf you come out (according to WC?.com) with a car costing £37,485...Steff said:
Don't look at what an optioned up Golf R costs then, it makes the 135i look like a bargain
Totally forgot about the 135i. Is that the coupe? It would need to be the 2012 cab/coupe at this point in time, so that would be the BMW 235i.I'm 'supposed' to be a BMW man, I should hang my head in shame!

£31,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Surely that's 2nd hand RS4 or M3 money?
it is, but what's your point? Surely that's 2nd hand RS4 or M3 money?
fking stupid people comparing old and new cars. those cars were 2x the price when new when they had a few options on them.

Don't call me fking stupid mate. My point is that from a performance-per-£ point of view that money buys lots if you can avoid buying new.fking stupid people comparing old and new cars. those cars were 2x the price when new when they had a few options on them.
Then again, fk it. Buy yourself a new one and i'll have it off you in 3 yrs with a 65% discount.

Yes it looks expensive sliding north of £30k, but the anniversary editiona have always held their value far better than the standard GTi and the improvements often make them drive a whole lot better. I remember the 25th anniversary edition, which was chalk and cheese to the box standard Gti 150.
Add that to the strong residuals of a Golf GTi and you'll find these up for contract hire for very reasonable money, I wouldn't be surprised to see one below £200 per month (+vat etc etc), which is a good target for the huge fleet market out there.
i dont think so. My Edition 30 was 24k new and i sold it at 3 years old for 10.5k.Add that to the strong residuals of a Golf GTi and you'll find these up for contract hire for very reasonable money, I wouldn't be surprised to see one below £200 per month (+vat etc etc), which is a good target for the huge fleet market out there.
