love it by why still call it the "63"? It wasnt a 6.3 even when it was called that last time.
I've had an E280 and an E350, both were 3 litre engines...

Yes please!! But, only if they ditch that dull looking exhaust and go back to the quads on the 6.2's.

And FYI, BMW WILL NOT be knocking out an F10 M5 Tourer. Thats straight from the peeps at //M a couple of weeks ago at the pre F10 Launch track test.

they are the same exhaust on the e63 that it replaces.
i think the new square looking exhaust looks better than the round ones.

So are we calling estate vehicles 'wagons' now?

Although I'm a Jalop, this isn't Jalopnik.
Merc estates are always wagons. It's the law

Had a massive lucky escape in this while it was here. Dan and I went to a meeting in Reading, and I brought this back to the office. On the M4 eastbound I was about to absolutely nail it as the road had cleared in front of me, foot was en route to accelerator and I was about to do a Millenium Falcon impression. As all of this was happening I glanced at the E60 touring to my left and realised, in a split second, that the driver was wearing an earpiece radio. Unmarked Old Bill. Bugger. Instantly made like I wasn't actually about to marvel at the E63s ability to accelerate from 80 to 120, indicated and slipped sedately into the middle lane. Phew...

Sounds impressive.

Was very tempted by the C63 wagon but the range is disastrously small - fast estates NEED big fuel tanks IMO!

What? It produces peak power at low revs, hence the huge torque value but relatively low HP output.

I find it amazing that 20 years ago the supercars were powered by the very engines that power our family estates now.
You say it like it's a mainstream sort of car that joe schmoe is able to afford to buy and run. Whilst these monstrous engines are available in estate cars, they still very much remain within the reaches of a very small percentile of the population so in some respects can still be compared to supercars!

I think it's more impressive that you can get, for example, 300BHP+ in a comparatively (!) cheap hot hatch.. that sort of power wouldn't have looked out place in an expensive car 20 years ago.

Still.. nice car.. I look forward to seeing something like that as SOTW in about 25 years wink
