To answer you question, I would say the ecu failure is uncommon, certainly not read about it on Acura site!
There is a posting on there at the mo of one of these cars just rolling the half million mile mark

. . . I wouldn't expect to see too many cars achieving that ?
There are a lot of members cars on that site that are well onto the 100's of thousand miles !
'the power of dreams' eh ? )
Hmm, i've never owned a Honda before, I think it might be timeTo answer you question, I would say the ecu failure is uncommon, certainly not read about it on Acura site!

And the Leg End & NSX are a lot more 'solid' than the smaller ones...

Beware - if you 'get it' it's rather hard not to own them! That's why you get racers in the US with 400,000 mile Civics & one guy who's running an Accord with over 1,000,000 on it.

'Get it'? I didn't know becoming a fanboy was contagious And the Leg End & NSX are a lot more 'solid' than the smaller ones...
Different-but-similar car, I'm currently running a 3.0 V6 Accord coupe of similar vintage and while it's hardly a hoot to drive, it's by far the best motorway cruiser I've owned, with a subtle bodykit it's still quite a looker, is completely and utterly dependable and while its hopeless compared to modern stuff, it's not as thirsty as you'd think. All in all not exactly a barnstormer in performance and handling terms but good value and fundamentally a good car. Some amusingly ridiculous torque-steer and appaling grip moving off adds to the fun... presumably this was before Honda had heard of traction control etc.
Back in 1993, I bought E599 CJN, a silver Legend 2.7 coupe with dark grey leather. Just under 5 years old at the time, it had already covered 136k miles with full Honda service history. It went on to cover another 50k fault free miles with me and several years later, I saw someone still driving it. The driving dynamics weren't the greatest, but it was silky smooth and never missed a beat. When I sold it, it still drove impeccably and looked like a nearly new car. Every single thing still worked and not a single thing broke. They just don't make cars like that any more.

HOW IS THERE A AVERAGE 7 SCORE, A BMW 330 CONVERTIBLE IS A 7, PISTON HEADS REALLY NEED TO GET A NEW SCOREBOARD!!! THE HONDA SHOWN HERE IS ONE STEP BETTER THAN THE BUS, SCORED 1 WITH ME
Some people like it, some don't, some score highly, some don't. Add 'em all together, divide by the same, average score = 7.Bit like democracy, really - you end up with something nobody's asked for....
