I've been offered between 5-6%, is that reasonable?
No idea, gut says not at all, but lots of factors may influence why it is or isn't.Long lead time for a factory unit or do they have reams of them in stock around the country?
Is there a PX involved in the deal and have they made an on-paper overallowance?
Is the deal being financed and is there a subsidised (either by dealer or manufacturer) low rate finance campaign on offer?
Are they selling them like they're going out of fashion, or are they sticking to forecourts generally?
Lots of factors that neither I nor you are necessarily privy to. Have you value checked it against drivethedeal? I've often found them literally unbeatable, however there can be drawbacks and bear in mind their best cash price will include dealer finance incentives/deposit contributions where applicable.
I'd look there as a yardstick and WBAC with a brutally honest description of the condition of your PX for an idea of its real trade value vs. any allowance you've been given.

Speaking of bread vans; I'm sure it has been discussed, but damn this is causing some trouser tentage.

A colleague has one and I have spent some time in it. Its ok but its not very well built inside and looks a bit nasty. His is in pretty good condition. Apparently they need to be serviced a lot (his is in every 3 months) and needs some special tool to do the AYC. Although the AYC can be replaced I believe with a different type of rear diff from an RS so not the end of the world.
The insurance is also astronomical on it even compared to cars with "similar" performance

I appreciate your feedback. The discount offered by drivethedeal is somewhat higher 19% v 6% from the dealer, but from what you have suggested above, this would be offset by the long lead times, some 4-6mths I am quoted. Brand new unregisted versions are out there, but it is finding the right spec and a decent price. There's no px involved, so that is out of the equation and no finance (from the dealer) either.Long lead time for a factory unit or do they have reams of them in stock around the country?
