Sorry I've not read all the comments, but this, if it were to be released as a mainstream model, would have to be the most epic hot hatch of all time, wouldn't it?? I guess it would absolutely trounce a Clio V6!

...come on, my 2010 model, A6 Avant le mans was £33K new (i know its a run out model), this one must be specced up to its eyeballs...anyway, the point is one of value, its doesn't matter how much kit you throw at it, an A1 is still only Polo size...but if this is your sort of thing, go for it...

That one is "Apple White" though, adds about 50% to the price .

Price is unimportant. If you want to drive a secondhand 997, an old model A6 or the BMW 1 Series M 2-door saloon, then that's what you will buy, not a tricked out premium compact.

Drove past an A1 special edition looking thing today. It had viynl racing stickers. Unsure what it was, looked quite cool though.

Nope; if they can be pre-sold to someone that's ideal but after a few weeks they tend to go into a showroom registered to the dealer with delivery miles only.

I really do love the concept behind this car, 260bhp, awd and those splendid ronal wheels, putting the rumoured price to one side it really could be a hoot to drive and looks lovely IMHO.

I don't get what people don't like about the car I really don't.

I quite like the car even though I hate the standard A1 and everything it's jumped up little badge stands for but won't like the prices, that's a given.

Sort of reminds me of an R5 GT Turbo but 3 times the adjusted for inflation price.
