Taken way back in Feb, at my local train station. Car park not even terribly busy, and yet...Bet the BMW driver was pissed.

I know it is probably illegal but if I was the BMW driver and came back tothat, I would let a tyre down on the audi (not puncture it, just deflate it).
Really? How do you think that would help?
Feel better factor biggrin

White van bad parking and in a disabled bay. The car on the right that was disabled could not manoeuvre out of their space and got a load of abuse when they spoke to "white van man"

Bit close to the white line, but the car park at the Maccy D's on the A616 doesn't have anywhere that a large van can park out of the way.
Maybe he has a disability
Indeed, he is blind, and is being a tt a disability, if it, he has that as well.

I doubt he's blind. But just because he drives a van doesn't mean he hasn't got some sort of disability.
Agreed, maybe he forgot his disabled badge as it was not in the window.

Possibly, maybe as there's no signs saying he needs to display it then he never bothered with it.

Wouldnt that be a first, a white van driver who is disabled, forgot to display his blue badge, when he parked in a disabled driver bay, dear oh dear biggrin

BTW dont think you need a sign saying display the badge.

The blue badge scheme does NOT apply to private land so there is no need to display one unless the land owner asks you to in some way.

If disabled driver isn't able to manoeuvre out of their space then I'd suggest they're not fit to be driving. Period.

Sticks.

Maybe so. But I suspect they were more aggrieved by either (or both) 1) not being left enough wheelchair access on the n/s and 2) restricted visibility.

You might be right, but let's face it, you don't take it down just because you park on private land, get real.

Maybe, but if you were on your own, reversing out of that would be in the "tricky" box - regardless of ability. How does anyone see through a van to check for ongoing traffic? Other than inch by inch?

Solution - if you have a big transit van, park it somewhere where you won't inconvenience people rather that "it's my right to..."

I'm not going to keep arguing with you.

All I am saying is, He has a van and either he or someone with him could have some sort of disability. Because it's a van you jump to the conclusion he's not disabled. He has the right like any other person to park there even without a blue badge as blue badges don't cover private land. Next we will be banning estate cars and 4x4's from parking next to a disabled bay just in case it blocks someone's view.

As for removing the badge. You don't need to have a blue badge to have some sort of disability. smile

This is the best I can do at such short notice. Parked in a bus stop.

Not arguing, but just interested. Are you saying if a blue badge driver parks in a disabled bay in a shopping precinct carpark, they do not need to display the badge.

And are you saying that if you have a disability, which does allow you to obtain a blue badge, you can still park in disabled spaces, just interested.

To answer your question.

The supermarket owner may require you to display a blue badge to park there but there is no law against parking there without one. If you scroll down to the "where can't I park" section it will tell you more.

http://www.bluebadgenetwork.org.uk/whatbluebadge.h...

And yes someone who has a disability but not a blue badge could park in a disabled bay on private land. There is no law against it.
