You know, people keep posting these type of pics but all I can see there is decent, protective parking. I think very few of us here wouldn't take advantage of the end space like that, I know I would. In fact, I actively seek out such spaces.

Sorry, I cant understand it, if a car park is full, you either wait, or go elsewhere, there is probably a good reason why there isnt a parking bay there, big door tell you somehing.

To me this is typical selfish I will park anywhere brigade.

Maybe the doors had a say in where he parked and it is not terrible parking so I would have not have taken a photo. smile
Why would this lot have anything to do with parking??

I also actively seek out such spaces and park exactly like that.

I'm not taking up a second parking space and my own car stays scratch/dent free.

The difference is I think most of us would just position our car right at the edge of the space nearest the "safe" area rather than park in it.

The hatching is there in this case as the turn on that corner is tight for people leaving the supermarket. Losing some paint off the front corner of your bumper is more likely than getting a door dent. Sometimes markings are actually there for a reason wink

I wonder if this person was executing 'protective parking' from the white van?

There is no hatching so thats a terrible example. You know exactly what my post referred to, 'protective parking' over hatching, which is something most of us do. Your example there isn't protective parking its knobbery. Unless of course you were just trying to be petty, if so you kind of failed wink

It was a tongue in cheek example, with an actual bad parking photo. I guess I should have added an appropriate smiley so you knew I wasn't serious... rolleyes

No no, its more likely the heater channels were borked and the drivers hands so bloody cold that turning the steering wheel was a complete impossibility smile
