So you are taking pictures on your phone outside a school at leaving time?
can you imagine at the police station station..
'but officer there is this thread on pistonheads about bad parking....'
'Course there is Sonny.. now, off to the cells, would you like one lump (of spit) or two in your tea?..'
To the pure all things are pure: but to them that are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled Titus 1 :15 can you imagine at the police station station..

If you are tired of being stereotyped - STOP reinforcing it!!Seriously. There are idiots on here that get all defensive about the Audi/BMW stereotype on PH in an instant...
Blah, blah! Lazy stereotype. Blah, blah! It's not true in real life. Blah, blah! You got that off of Clarkson. Blah...
...so why, every time I leave the bloody house, does some idiot in a BMW/Audi do something so crashingly stupid/arrogant/dangerous/inconsiderate that I can't help but make a mental note of it. FFS, these are 'aspirational' brands, driven by the indebted to park on the driveway of their 'aspirational' mock Tudor link detached house, in order that they might kid themselves into believing that they've "made it". So why the hell don't these idiots 'aspire' to being better drivers? After all, they've gone and bought/leased themselves an "ultimate driving machine" so surely improving their driving should be a priority, so as to get the most from the potential performance of their car?
Then a photo like the one above surfaces. And it is proved beyond any doubt whatsoever, that where stereotypes are concerned, there is definitely no smoke without a fire.

That says so much about the owners of those cars.
Dont see anything wrong with this...these are very valuable cars and CANNOT be parked in the same way or space as a £500 ford fiesta...This is automotive royalty and must be treated by respect, which means they can park wherever they will be safe from idiots opening doors on them. And so what if they get a £50 fine - much cheaper than fixing the panel damage. So stop winging people......yellowjack said:

Saw one like that (but it was a freelander) in Scarborough t'other year. We put eight bikes around it so it had less than 2" of space to move backwards or forwards. Then we all sat in the cafe over the road enjoying the view & ice cream We did move when asked, but oddly enough it took so long the warden had appeared (dunno who went to find him) & had ticketed them.

Automotive royalty - you mean inbred and a bit loopy? "Look at me, I've just bought the Prince Charles of cars"

I see what you did there.
What? You dont agree? You appear to be stating that someone who spends more on a car than I have has the right to flout the law to ensure their car is not damaged just because of the price tag.
I can't afford to fix my car up either (regardless of its cost), so I can park as I like too?

Just because one chap has a £500 Fiesta, and the next guy has a £900,000 P1, doesn't mean that the supercar driver has dibs on double spaces at the car park. For all we know, the chap with the Fiesta has comparatively more of his household income invested in his shed than the guy with the P1.
I 'only' have a Mondeo. I bought it because I liked it, and researched my purchase thoroughly, prior to sinking what was, for me at least, a VERY significant sum of money into it. If it is expected that I place my car "between the lines" when parking, then the Ferrari/Lamborghini/McLaren driver can bloody well park his properly too. The question of ultimate value/rarity doesn't come in to it. Repair bills are repair bills, and they hurt us lowly mortals more than they hurt the wealthy. Not only that, but a very small amount of damage will "write off" a shed, yet something as valuable as an F40 would be repaired at almost any cost, such is it's value.
Even when the 'cars bought as white goods' cliche is trotted out, it's irrelevant. Why? Because if you came to my house and dented my fridge I'd be just as pissed off as if you scratch my car. So no. Occupying multiple spaces in 'defensive parking' strategies is massively NOT acceptable. If you don't like it, buy a hatchback for the Waitrose run, and save the supercar for when it's more suited to the purpose.
As for BMWs, Audis, Jaguars, etc needing extra space? Laughable, I'm afraid. I don't give a stuff how many 'M', 'S', or 'R' badges you glue to the bootlid, when it's all distilled down, a car is just a car when you drive to the bloody shops in it

I like your comment on your Mondeo. Totally agree. Basically you can park or you can't, sadly many are just fking morons.
I always reverse in to a space, getting between the lines is easy, when the bay backs into one behind it, I will always check where the back of my car is, so it's in my bay and not the one behind me, not rocket science, even reversing into a bay with a car behind me, when the reversing sensors bleep, I still check to make sure I am not in their bay.
Am I a candidate? I shall let you decide.
I parked like this due to the Cayenne beside me. I thought it would be considerate due to the large doors and it also saves me any potential dings. I didn't give it a second thought until I heard one guy exclaim;
"Ha, look at that Skoda...it's only just in the space."
