Ive done it!
202mph At Brunters, i have 532 rear wheel horse power(625bhp crank?) , and i have also ran 10.7/133.48mph on the strip.
I also use it on the road for a bit of repping, and track day it.
Virtually monsters everything in sight to be honest!

I did mention this a long time ago ..... 202mph At Brunters, i have 532 rear wheel horse power(625bhp crank?) , and i have also ran 10.7/133.48mph on the strip.

Plenty of videos on Youtube of folks claiming 200 mph on the autobahn,
although for the first three I looked at, they looked to be doing
200 kph, not 200 mph (321 kph).
Also, the Continentals try to reach 300 kph (186mph), which is a
tad easier.

A dragstrip is too short for 200mph in anything other than dedicated drag racing machines. Even F1 cars would struggle to hit 150mph on a dragstrip.
Button did the 1/4 mile in 9 seconds in his Honda on 5th Gear - thats about 150 mph no?GetCarter said:
Been there... it's not that interesting, just a lot of wind noise (mostly from the passenger).
ETA: Two vids I took that prove it. The corners are much more fun.

£10-£12,000 for a 2004 E55 AMG, have it DMS'd and maybe Stage 1 of the Kleeman upgrades and you should see 200mph. I'd be checking the alloys for cracks and buying a brand new set of tyres first though. Autobahn in early morning seems the likeliest place to achieve it.
Mind you, 155 is fast enough for me - the road and scenery whooshing by is quite scary - like some Matrix-esque slo-mo sequence

Yup, 200mph on land is a bit crap really, no idea why people would want to do that. For real speed you need a aeroplane, better than a car in so many ways!

Sunday morning on the A9 from Leipzig to Berlin
No Lorries (Banned from Autobahns on Sundays unless they contain perishable goods), not a great amount of traffic and a nice long straight road. If I can get to 140MPH in a 187HP DC2 I'm certain its easy for the bigger V8's (Assuming they have long enough gearing) to top 200MPH.

The force of the wind is proportional to V^2, power is speed x force = V^3.No Lorries (Banned from Autobahns on Sundays unless they contain perishable goods), not a great amount of traffic and a nice long straight road. So if you can get to 140mph with 187hp you will need 187 x 200^3/140^3 = 545hp with the same aerodynamics.
Of course aerodynamics vary with speed but as a ballpark theoretical you'd need 2.91 x the wheel horsepower you have to do it.
Actually this cube law that stops us getting decent speeds in cars (etc.) is the same law that means wind turbines are all st, as the power drops off with the cube of the windspeed.
200 mph? FFS, stop messin' around! [/Kenneth Williams]
