Full fat winter tyres?
I should clarify that the 4Matic (or whatever it's called) would, but no rwd or fwd car gets up my driveway in the snow, no matter what tyres are on it. Believe me, many have tried.

This is not the steepest bit \/

Which is why I own 2 quattros and have a Range Rover on order for my wife, who's Golf sits stranded by our house until the thaw!

Having experienced on road and track standard and modified RS4, E92M3 DCT, E46M3 CSL the C63 is by far the most exciting road car to drive daily. Fact.

There's only 200 odd RS4's inAustralia, of which 140 odd are sedan ( PLEASE DONT SAY SALOON'S, ITS SOUNDS SOOO GHEY) SO THE SEDANS WILL be even more of a rarity if it's only avants bieng built. But i have to say, the RS4 avant is beautiful, the C63 wagon looks AWFUL, SEDAN A BIT BETTER. but the Rs in general looks meaner than them all TBH anyway. RS rules.

Too small for two big dogs. I had a Golf R32 and the 4x4 gubbins makes the rear space a lot smaller.

Agreed S4 is the current highlight of the faster Audis. Much prefer it to the RS5.
The RS5 should perhaps not have sported the RS moniker.

The S4 is competent but does not have the depth of the B7 RS4 or legendary RS2. More a 335iM than an M3 IMO.
interesting, not sure I agree...

current S4 is a very competent car, very easy to live with, devastatingly fast off the mark, very easy to access it's performance.

(R)S5 is surprisingly different, steering is better weighted, but the engine/drivetrain far less agile, such that even though it has more power, you have to work at it to access unlike the S4.

B7 Rs4 V8 set such a high benchmark it was always going to a difficult act to update.......

...suppose I'll have to keep my Avant a bit longer

22-24 mpg is easier to stomach compared £10ks of of depreciation
22-24MPG - I wish!! More like 18-20mpg smile
we get 22-24mpg (less if I put in BP Ultimate, bit more if its Shell)

Recent motorway bash over 280 miles (2x140 trips) = OBC said 28.2MPG but I reckon from brim to brim its 26.4mph
typically if its get used around two it drops below 20mph avg & returns under 20 mpg, but my usual 45 mile each way trip to work on mixed roads its returns 24 to 28mpg (measured from fill ups not OBC).

other cars that have been used on that route to compare
MINI Cooper S (supercharged) 33-34mpg
Golf GTI MKV 36-37mpg
BMW 335D (remapped) 40-42mpg ...dreadfully dull engine but quick & frugal

Swiss official Audi importer released today a document disclosing the world premiere of the 450hp Audi RS4 Avant 4.2L FSI S-Tronic Quattro (breathe ...) at the 2012 Geneva car show, along side other world premieres such as the new A3 and a surprising 360hp TT-RS. So all the rumors (started by C&D seemingly) about the binned RS4 were ... good for just that, the bin.
