Yes, I realise that functionality is there of course, however I haven't detected this clicking before. Was wondering if some linkage somewhere was working itself loose.
I feel it a lot. I have had several cars do this. Nothing related has ever broken.
Same, always there on my BMW autos'

Where has everyone been today? I've been sorting IT problems and come back expecting to have missed 6 pages, not 6 posts.

Wonder where this one will end, not the most detailed advert ever for such a car - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIte...
That LWB is ok, has some nice options in the back (picnic tables, centre control) but lacks some in the front, no xenons or contour seats. Is up on the miles and the detail is so scant in the ad I can't see it at any more than (optimistically) £1500.

Mine (http://pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=47&t=1062959&nmt=A+brace+of+7%26apos%3Bs+%28e32+740i+and+e38+740il%29&mid=62110) cost me £1640 and had many many less miles.

All of that said I like the colour and the Style 32's, it could be a very nice car but just a very lazy seller who can't be arsed to write a comprehensive advert.

Am I too cynical?

Reading the text on this ad, I'd assumed a seller who knows little about cars - "Here is my Daughters mini /cooper/ Rover. i am not sure if it is a cooper, it staes rover on the log book(v5c)" but then notice a Classic Volvo in the back of the third pics - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

suddenly

"it has been in dry storage for over a year has no mot and no tax, i think the cluch is stuck on due to standing, but engine runs ok."

translates into my mind as "it's totally shagged and not even I can do anything with it"

Or am I just being a bit too paranoid.

That one looks visibly rusty even on the small photos. I bet it's a bit of a shed. Might be worth buying to restore/upgrade if it goes cheaply though. Or have workshop rates for Minis gone sky high since they became a bona fide classic?

I know we are in a recession and there is a fuel shortage but since when has a Mini been a barge?

Whilst the long description of the situation with fuel at the moment is more correct, the truth of the matter is that many people are finding it difficult to buy fuel for their car. Calling it a fuel shortage is perhaps not technically correct, but it's near enough.

Now, will the missus kill me if I buy a V8 this weekend because everyone is even more scared of big barges?

Something like this might be worth a punt...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-740-i-sport-4-4-auto...

I'm not keen on the front splitter, or the decidedly trade looking advert with it sat on a private drive, but if you were in the Barnstaple area, (I'm not,) it would be worth a look. The price is high, but it's a late model, with low miles. What would 4 Star charge?

Looks nice. 4 services in 11 years seems light.

Take a leaf out of Warren Buffet's book - "the time to be brave is when others are scared" (or similar).I reckon this weekend could be good for barge buyers!

Come on then: let's give the rest of the afternoon over to finding the most awesome pile of V8-ness we can within the thread budget!

With change for two tanks of petrol to get you home.

Actually seems to be the same dealer as the £4k E60 I posted the other day who also has a sub £3k E36 M3. Could be worth a visit.
