That looks lovely, Avus Blue? Fairly late one as well isn't it? 1995/1996 'N' Reg. Many miles on it?
Liking the Audi, I had a 2.8 Quattro in the same shape 1993 on an 'L', one of the cars I have owned for the longest period of time.

Yes it's Avus Blue with silver/grey leather seats. Not sure how true this is but I've led to believe that there were only ever four 540i Manuals produced in Avus Blue. It's just rolled over 130k so it's by no means low but no where near as high as some I've seen for sale.
And you're quite right, it's a 1996 so right at the very end of their run. Interestingly it's not as well specced as other 'high-end' BMWs of the same vintage as it doesn't have A/C or Electric Seats but from speaking to Phil at CPC he seems to think that a lack of A/C can sometimes be a blessing as it can cost a fortune to fix (which I can vouch for as my Mum wanted her A/C fixed on her little 316i but they quoted her £1400!).
As for the S2, I owned that for the best part of 6 years and enjoyed every minute of it. Prior to that I owned a 2.0 8v Coupe and was so impressed with the build quality and comfort that the next logical step would be the same car but with a hell of alot more punch.

Thoughts from the collective? http://autotrader.mobi/used-cars/advert/2012174664...I just had a mooch round it. Bodywork straight no dings or rust. A few small scratches though. Drivers bolster a bit squished. Avons/Dunlops with decent tread. FSH with all invoices apparently. Towbar obviously. I may be interested... anyone want an E38

Cheers Matt, I thoroughly enjoyed owning that car but if I'm honest spent more money on it than it ever needed but the result was a very well sorted point to point pocket rocket. GBB said: Nice, how much are you looking for for it? I'll be honest, I've had no inclination to sell it until spying that 750i! I paid a smidge over £2k for it back in March of last year which was perhaps on the high side in the scheme of things but back then this was one of only two on the market and the other one was up for £3k and was certainly not the better car for it.

Just don't like cars advertised in car parks but maybe I'm being picky. Sounds like a good one though - has he given an offer on your 728?

Careful not to stray too far into what could be classed as selling chaps, happy to turn a blind eye for a bit but remember the rules

It's a dealer with small premises, not sure where photos were taken. Guy was out collecting a car when I had a poke round so no conversation about mine. They're so cheap anyway could just buy it and flog mine at leisure.

Just wondering what these were worth nowadays as a manual E34 540i would be a good purchase for me. I'd seen this one earlier which had got me thinking (plus I'd been tempted by the 535i posted a while ago) - http://www.bmwclassics.co.uk/e34_540i_saloon/index...

The top one has been discussed at length before, with "avoid" being the concensus.
There's a black 530i Sport Touring at under £3k in NI that looks decent...
