I'd say so (based on nothing but the fact it is also a big premium SUV). How much do they have in common with the Cayenne and Q7? I thought they shared an awful lot with the Cayenne. They do a 5 litre, V10 Turbo Diesel too, which must get SOME barge points...? (Not within budget of this thread though.)

That Touareg looks good but for the money I'd probably go for an RX300.

It's an easy thing to complain about, however, covering the bonnet in plastic is a super idea. It not only allows you to be more precise with the air flow under bonnet, which benifits cooling, it also cuts out unwanted engine noises. I'm not talking about lovely induction tones, I'm refering to the clicking of pumps and injectors, it really makes a huge difference

Chaps, my well thumbed copy of Parkers New and Used car chooser (c2003) states that the E34 525i can ricket from 0-60 in 7.6 seconds? Is this really true?

This thread used to have some standards - now we have got to the stage where we're posting 100 quid s tters from Merseyside

I like both, but prefer the looks/interior/image of the Touareg. The V6 petrol is a lovely motor and much nicer than the 5 pot/V6 diesels (would like to have a go in a V10 though).

The 3.2 must be a bit weedy in a 2.5t car like the Touareg. The plastic covers under the bonnet are fine, just never seen anything like it even in higher end cars where refinement is paramount.
