8+ service stamps, plus if one obtained the VOSA MOT History online it should be possible to verify the miles. A good poke around underneath for rot would be crucial though. I have a suspicion that all big engined thirsty stuff like this is on the slide at the moment. Just not enough folks like us who are keen on running such beasts. All the more bargains for us though!

Could just be someone who has heard about the vanos issues and doesn't know much about M5's. They all rattle on startup, it's just how quickly the rattle goes that is the issue.
I agree, but I think I'd leave that bit out of my Ebay advert. Though I'm not convinced by the "drives fine". I suspect neither buyer nor seller know that much about M5's (or advertising)

I've fked up. I've just plowed a load of cash into the 309 as there was nothing that really took my fancy in my budget. Than...

Lovely, should the wheels have a chrome finish?

Nah, was definitely an option on lesser Daimlers, but I'm not sure I've ever seen a Super with chromes.

Sounds like the 'solicitor' PO wasn't much for maintenance? New engine at just over 100k?

Oh gawd! A Super with 4 seats and overrugs for 2.5 cloud9

Must resist. Supposed to be family wagon shopping, not yet another barge with a small boot!

You can set a "hard" limiter, presumably for when the vehicle is (1) equipped with winter tyres with a speed rating lower than its maximum speed or (2) on loan to your son. I can't remember how you do this.
If it is the same as my E-class estate, it is done via the cruise control stalk.

Have we had this one?

I'm gagging for an E39 53/40i Sport Touring. I went to see an SE last week and it didn't really float my boat lookswise.... definitely a Sport required.

What about getting an SE and making some tasteful modifications to the wheels and suspension?

Yes, saw that one and looks well. I'm in no rush as of yet.

Too much like hassle and I prefer the Sport bumpers tbh.

Tell you what, that's got a slightly odd spec - the electric comfort seats would've cost a bomb, as did the pull-out boot floor, and yet it doesn't have the comms pack.

Either way, I would yes
