279 said: Is the leather supposed to look that worn at 83k? After spending a load of time in this thread I'm starting to think leather wear is as much about age as it mileage. It's a 15 year old car - leather ages. If anything it just highlights the pointlessness of worrying about mileage on cars like this. You'd run a mile from mine unless it was 50 quid or something yet it's immaculate inside.

I'm not actively marketing it for sale but do change cars frequently and I did intend to buy an E39 last time but ended up with the V12. I love it actually but I can always have another and I do want to own a E39 M5 at some point. Plus E65 745i's are getting temptingly within thread budget.... so much barge choice!

I am so tempted by another one but the wallet pillage that the last one cost me sort of soured the relationship, not to mention the moron 'specialists' who did not put the fan back on properly...was lucky it did not destroy the brand new radiator that they also installed.

His Skoda which is worth the same might do 40 to the gallon but it doesn't do that D'oh! I knew my E46 can do this but I've been going out every day to unlock the car, sit in it, key in ignition, lower windows, relock. I now feel like a massive fool.

bmthnick1981 said: Can E38's do this? If so, HOW? yes they can. when pressing the unlock button on the top of the diamond key, just keep it held down for a few seconds. likewise, if you take the key out when your windows are down, when locking, hold the lock button down and the windows will go up.
