I've been on here a lot lately asking for various bits of advise on what car to get but we finally decided that I better get a sensible car and we will then get an Audi TTS between me and the oh in a couple of months!

Popped into a dealer to look at an alfa GT 1.9d cloverleaf but really didn't get on with it so was about to walk out and look around for another car and then this caught my eye! I would have never even condidered a citroën but it just looked awesome on the hyro pneumatic suspension.

And to cut a long story short, it's now on my driveway!

So the question is, did I buy a stty citroën shed that will breakdown all the time and be worth £26 in a couple of years or did I get myself a cool luxury barge?

And with the suspension raised biglaugh

Good work! I think these look lovely and I'm sure it rides beautifully. Although the value of it in a couple of years I wouldn't like to speculate on hehe

Which engine is it?

So this was an impulse buy! How much?

Does look good though...with the suspension down that is!

I must admit they do look nice but being a Citroen it will be worth £2.50 next year probably. If you like the car and are going to run it for some time, who cares what its worth.

I had one of these as a hire car in Spain. The 1.6 HDI was woefully underpowered but I really liked everything else about it, especially the smooooth suspension! Seemed well screwed together and nothing broke (that week).

Beautiful cars!! Have to say that I love the look of them! It depends how long your going to keep it really as to whether youve been clever or genius!

Citroen's dont do too well in holding their value, but will keep on going, so could prove a good purchase, and a long term investment.

Cool car IMHO. Big Citroens are so comfy and relaxing to drive.

Yep, complete impulse buy! Didn't even know they existed until I saw it (there were a couple of the lower spec ones there too and without the suspension I wouldn't have even taken a second glance)

It's the 2.2hdi, I've driven a few bmw 7 series and Audi a6/a8 and in terms of refinement this is miles better! Just a shame about the badge really!

It has every single toy available on it (apart from nav) and it amazes me how much spec I got for the money

Good for you. Makes a change from all the VAG mediocrity that unimaginative tw@ts like me buy.

Having said that the original Citroen C5 was slower than Sir Clive Sinclair's version.

One of the best-looking cars I've seen in a while. What's the spec and what was the price?

As others have said, I'd plan to keep it until it dies. They're not known for great resale value but then you may have already bought it with a huge chunk of depreciation already knocked off. Either way, it looks fab and if the old XM I had for a year is anything to go by, the most comfy seats in a car ever.

And they say the wheel on the 458 has too many buttons hehe

I'm pretty sure that wheel has more buttons than my entire car (s2000), including the headunit!

You got yourself a cool luxury barge that will break down all the time and be worth about £26 in two years smile

Well done. I think these look absolutely great.
They even do one with the 3.0 Jag V6 Turbodiesel in as well.
(Square exhaust tips are the give away).

Not slow at all actually, it's the discontinued 2.2d with 173 bhp which has now been replaced with a 2.0 140bhp model, which seems weird!

I certainly wouldn't want to drive the 1.6d version though!

I paid £8,600 with 1 owner and 44,000.

Spec? Literally everything I can think of, parking sensors with image, full colour LCD dash, tyre pressure screen, cruise, I pod dock, electric heated memory seats, led lights, duel zone climate, folding mirrors etc etc

Both. The two statements are not mutually exclusive.

I've got a real soft spot for these. One day I'll have one (I'll wait a couple of weeks for them to depreciate by another few thousand wink ). Surely the comfiest barge out there.
