Amazing video. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it didn't last longer.
OK video - about 5 mins of nice shots of Sport quattro. Please dont go down the route of Autocar ie 10mins of watching the tester - want to see the car please. £149k no chance - may go ofr around 80-90k on a good dayStill not sure what Harris is bringing to the party - were PH short of staff or was he looking for a job?
PS Chris - if you want to cross continents mate - get a URQ 20V RR and leave that Sport Quattro for the twisties...

Can this character be banned from future CH video reaction threads please.
What an utter load of toilet.
This is about two fantastic cars that need celebrating, not your personal vendettas. Ta
Hmm...placed 13th in the Nurburgring 24 in an unmodified GT3RS?......he is a superb driver and an outstanding journalist. Strange comment really. What an utter load of toilet.

037 was a group B car , and it was the only 2wd car to ever beat the quatrro
Ari Vattanen 1981 World champion in the David sutton prepared RS1800 escort Mk2. He beat the real Stig and Michelle Mouton in their Quattros. Not to mention the fact that the Renault 5 turbo also won rounds of the WRC against the Quattros.Stack said:
The Lancia 037 was group B Lancia even used it on the 86 Safari Rally as the S4 was untried in Africa
Wish those that spout the "037 RWD" line would research their facts first.

Interesting points but it is fair to say that the 037 was the last RWD car ever to take the WRC Championship. Also when Ari won in 1981, how concerted was the quattro effort? Were they actually running a full campaign that year or building up? Wish those that spout the "037 RWD" line would research their facts first.
Back on topic, that was a great video, worth the wait to get back home and watch it!
Back on here after a long time away! Great video Chris, I enjoyed the videos you did on DR and articles in Evo, I thought PH was all about the classifieds but you have me interested in the opinion now too.
Nowhere near as exotic but I always wanted to drive an Integrale but never did - insurance premiums in the early 90's were a factor I gladly forget! The Impreza came along and soon dreams of the 'grale were forgotten. Maybe it's just me but it's like that girl you didn't have the courage to ask out on a date, you just reignited the flame to drive the Delta.

Holy hell - I LOVE these cars.
Looking forward to watching the video when I've got more time to appreciate it. Sounds great.
Not wanting to 'over hype' the situation at all, but I think these videos could well be the turning point where watching car content on a computer is a genuine alternative to watching it on 'normal' TV.
I mean, 'actually getting a cup of tea and settling down to watch it' kind of thing as opposed to watching a quick clip whilst surfng the net.
Keep up the good work.

Harris' vids have been required viewing for me since his Autocar days.
Love the Group B cars - have driven every variant of them & the Sport Quattro was my favourite of all.
Used C44 HOK - a red Sport Quattro - on many occasions. An animal of a car - fast, handled like a dream, sounded fantastic.
What more can you ask for?
Oh yeah - another drive in it!!! I wish.

Excellent vid. Brings back a lot of memories...
He refers to what so many of us did in the 80's - go and stand next to an icy gravel track at Chatsworth, or some Welsh forest in the middle of the night, just to watch/listen/smell these iconic cars and their heroic drivers compete in the 'RAC' rally. Back then it ran day and night for many days.
As a young whippersnapper I did too, and I was hooked. From then on I was strangely drawn to rally cars, which in later life proved sufficiently inspiring to make me shell out for various Group B based machinery as my daily weapons of choice .. including, eventually, a 10 yr stint with a road legal RS200 in full Evo guise, all 600bhp of it. With hindsight I should have bought a decent house and led a normal life ... but hey, you only remember one life at a time, and you cant take it with you !
Below is a link to another PH Thread from 2 yrs ago entitled 'Group B as a Daily Driver' … which makes for an interesting read.
