I didn't think I'd enjoy that as I'm a bit too young to remember these cars at the time.

But I really loved it!

Harris is really delivering, good to see the PH name check as well smile

Can this character be banned from future CH video reaction threads please.

What an utter load of toilet.

This is about two fantastic cars that need celebrating, not your personal vendettas. Ta
Hmm...placed 13th in the Nurburgring 24 in an unmodified GT3RS?......he is a superb driver and an outstanding journalist. Strange comment really.
yes

Very.

Forget top gear and it's "which car is best for balancing an elephant on" and "let's bump into james' car" rubbish.

this is the sort of thing that i want to see, a proper review of what a car is like to drive.

It obviously helps when you have such stunning basic material to work with, but nonetheless Good work PH, good work CH

Great video, enjoyed it a lot.

Can't believe I had the chance of a 205 T16 for 25k a few years back and turned it down.

I'm fairly sure we're supposed to be discussing how wonderful the cars are, not how wonderful Chris Harris is?

Yes, he's doing a great job but that's what he gets paid for.

A much better use of this thread would be to find someone who knows someone that can arrange for Chris to do a (no doubt wonderful) follow-up featuring a Delta S4, Metro 6R4 and Pug Ti16.

I'd much rather see more smoke blowing out of the rear of one of those.

listen, after all the dross that Ph has been spoon feeding us over the years as their attempt at 'journalism' allow us this moment of pleasure that someone competent has finally come along and makes the homepage worth visiting.

But yes, a follow up with the other main protagonists would be brilliant

ps, you forgot the lancia037, lush.....

Have a look at the last corner acceleration on Mr Schanche's RS200 that was believed to be around 800-1000hp mark.

Wow, those old rally cars get more powerful every day.
not really it was well reported it was putting out 900bhp at the time i used to go an watch him rally cross it, and that it needed a complete rebuild every 10 or so hours lol

Enjoyed the video a lot, thanks. Brought back some happy boyhood memories of standing around in damp, cold forests. Everything would be quiet. Then you'd hear the whistles sounding. Then you'd hear the bark of a rally monster. In seconds it was gone, showering you with stones. No health and safety in those days, no sirree.

Although the RS200 and 6R4 were cool cars to my boy-self, they really didn't figure that much. They were too late to the party and didn't do that whole winning thing, which is important to an impressionable kid. The 205 T16, Delta S4, Audi Quattro ... these were my hero cars at the time.

Only ever seen a RS200 once and sadly it was broken down on the A34 (services just before the M40).

The AA man was looking very confused when he did poke his head out from trying to fix it.

Great cars.

The Lancia O37 wasn't a group B (prepares to be shot down!)

But we are all agreed, Harris, find the other great group Bs please and do a similiar report

I thoroughly enjoyed that video, thanks. I'm not a total anorak but I enjoy the informative element without it being totally nerdy...well done to all involved in making it anyway, great stuff.

Like the R5 Turbo and Audi quattro I believe it was re-homologated from Group 4 to Group B for the 1984 season onwards.

There was some right rubbish homologated for Group B as well. People forget that. Citroen Visa, Lada Riva, Talbot Samba, etc, etc.

This video made me realise just how much of the nose of the Sport Quattro was air intake and mesh grille.

If you drove that thing into a field of spuds you'd get chips in the cabin.

Who is this bloke?

Clearly not a motoring journo, can't do a three point turn (turning the wheel while stationary- PLEASE!), can't drift despite trying several times (even in a RS200 on a private road) and the Quattro is "in his top 10" yet he wrote less than 2 sentances about what its like to drive....

Brilliant cars and a pleasure to see them but what was the report and video all about? Was like Top Gear from the 80's with Quinten Wilson doing the review.

A take it he's the same showoff who rode in the F1 without a seatbelt and nearly p*ssed himself?

Hopefully PH let him review a door knob next week.

I really enjoyed that.

I have sent it to the RS200 owners google group so maybe some other owners can let Chris have a go in an Evo car or one of the faster, noisier and flaming cars. I have driven my Dad's a few times since he bought it direct from Ford in 1988.

I would really like to have a drive of the other Group B cars.

Well done Chris this is a good start to a worthy line of investigation.
