Weird, I took a photo similar to that about 8 years ago...In fact, there's me (Orange Exige) parked in the background!

I took a trip up north over Christmas and decided to take a couple of scenic routes.
On Saturday I drove from Carlisle to Huddersfield and took the Pennine route. Stopped off in a pub car park just to test the winter tyres out as the roads were mainly clear. Worked a treat. Here's the view from the car park.
On the way from Huddersfield to the Midlands, I took a route over Holm Moss, onto the Snake Pass and down through the Peak District. Absolutely stunning scenery.
The road up Holm Moss was snowy and steep but the E36 took it with ease.
The view from the top.
The road down the other side was mostly clear with some stunning views as the road descended into the cloud filling the valley.
And here's one from the Snake Pass.
A great way to avoid the monotony of the holiday traffic on the motorway.
