Personally speaking because it has (it appears to me) been done with a sense of humour, and it chimes with my sense of humour. That it gets people's backs up amuses me.
Like most things in life I like things that cock a snook at the established order. Things like the LM002 are the same; many people sneer at what Lambo did, personally I think it's a brilliantly stupid idea and the world is better for them being around.

Before there's an inundation of queries/accusations; do I think the same of ALL mods, no....but the context and motivation behind them IS important to know and understand.

But sometimes it's like trying to explain why you like the colour blue. You just like what you like, no explanation required.

Poor show. In my opinion the article has damaged the integrity of PistonHeads, in fact I didn't believe it at first and found myself checking the address bar to see if it was a spoof link.

Righto-

I will shamelessly stick up for the mods.
If a piece is to get written on a subject that they feel is dire/waste of a good car etc, why the hell should they not express an opinion???
The whole bloody thread is then full of......in my opion........ So why should the writer not air his or hers? It wasn't that long ago that everyone was up in arms due to Porsche content, now something negative gets written and everyone jumps in to have a pop at poor journalism, damaging a reputation and all the other guff that has been spouted.
All the article really says is that if you are a fan of unmolested porsches, don't look at this, yet everyone then looked AND felt the need to condemn the piece. Why? If it was a review of a new car- and that new car was a lump of ste, nobody would bat an eyelid- good consumer advice really- don't buy x it's not as good as y. As many have stated, looks are a very personal thing, but whoever wrote it is as entitled to their opinion as any of the people who replied in the thread- fk me, you don't have to read it, or indeed, take notice of it. How could the site be moderated if no opinion was allowed?
Further- for all of the 'petrolheads' who love all cars and all engines and embrace every single person who has a similar interest, you all seem rather quick to turn on someone like olber, when in actual fact, not one of you has answered his question-rather attempt to belittle him (and others) with - here's that word again Opinion (the one you as a reader are allowed, and to use freely to contribute, but not if you actually write for the site).
In summary- good article- glad someone had the balls to say what they thought. Good to see the owner get stuck in as well- without getting anything like as menstrual as some of the other posters. Genuinely- welcome aboard.
Finally- keep up the good work on PH, the place has humour, a Tongue in cheek attitude (or used to) and was never the most serious place to spend an hour- a few folk would do well to remember- you don't have to come and read it, you certainly don't need to post, you could always just find somewhere else.
Oh- my silver 964 gets back from a major refurb in the next couple of weeks- it remains as standard as it left the factory- not looking like a netto specification transformer.

Haven't we missed the point a bit here?

The article was about a car that was originally thought to be an RS, but was VERY quickly revealed not to be.

Had the writer done a little more checking then I think the whole article wouldn't have been written. PH should take a little more care before jumping on a bandwagon that a good portion of it's readership are fans of.

Well, my first post on PH and yes i may be jumping on the bandwagon and I may be one of these so called single posters but then I think in this case, I am entitled to. As co-organiser of Dubshed, first of all I would like to thank the editorial team for this excellent publicity and extra coverage for the show that we weren't counting on this year. You may not like the car, may not like the girl and may not like Belfast but the controversial video has done exactly what we aimed it to do, just like the car has divided opinions since it was built. smile

Also, I am surprised by such a huge site allowing so many condescending, derogatory and sometimes racist comments to be posted on this thread. It really does not bode well for you guys and in my opinion and the opinion of many others, as a previously well respected site, it has let you down a bucketful. At the same time thanks to the majority who have supported the video and supported the "Dubbing" community on this thread.

Anyhow, in excess of 53,000 views now within the space of a week is a good result!

Keep an eye out for the extended cut in a couple of weeks, I'm sure you guys will enjoy it......lol

Racist comments? Can you give examples? Not something that lasts long on this site normally.

viw28, you seem to be the person most qualified to answer my question here.

Would you care to try and enlighten me? You might even sell an extra ticket or 2 for the show if you can.

i think that looks lovely!

and its not like its anything that cant be reversed, wheels/suspension.

i like the fact that a lowered car on wheels can make such a massive impression, simple yet massivly effective.

the bird can do one though, she cant walk for st

You can lower them and have them looking good without going overboard.

Everything fits.

I doubt we'll sell you any tickets by the sounds of it....

I personally have a car on air suspension and prefer that it looks better when parked up at shows dropped. I may add that it is a 400hp VR6 turbo and handles no differently to when it was on coilovers but then I am not just depending on the actual shock and spring assembly. I have uprated antiroll bars, bushes, camber adjustment and other suspension components.

Anyhow, it sounds to me, 4 or 5 pages later, you are looking for a rise out of someone, you have had your answer and I will answer the same.....it is all matter of opinion but generally us "Dubbers" like our cars low with minimal arch gap and some of us like the practicality of being able to have them low and having them at a normal height on the flick of a switch. Each to their own would you not agree?

That looks perfect!

As does the DS from the previous page, I think the common denominator is the arch to wheel parallel, if they're parallel they're right.

Here's a photo of the car in use. Note; 1. A reasonable ride height 2. The presence of (inboard) springs and dampers.
