Well as its in the public domain (and I can't get there till Sunday am) here goes...

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...

Its in Maidenhead, been owned by the seller for 3 years. Doesn't have much history and he had it serviced at local garages.

Chaps, do your worst! (And if someone wants to go and have a look on my behalf and report back...)

Is that at the top end of your budget?

I wouldn't want to take that on without at least a £2k fighting fund, available immediately.

Top end of my budget but a fighting fund would be available to keep it going. I wouldn't want to be throwing thousands at it though.

Something strange here - did an HPI albeit the cheapie one and its down as a 2.8, confirmed by the HPI website on its basic search. It very much looks like an ///M though!

HPI it, if it is clear then get it bought.

Even if it is borked you can shove it on ebay and get out without any pain.

It is an R reg and various reading suggests they weren't being sold until '99 so maybe some sort of pre production version.

Get the VIN, or at least the last 7 digits.

Will hopefully be getting the VIN which should clear things up a bit.

That seems worryingly cheap.

I must say its a surpising choice given your previous suggestions - its quite different both in terms of drive, bork and costs. If you want a Z3M Coupe is one from the bottom of the market prudent?

Presumably as its the same engine as the M3 Evo it has the same 3x the cost of a non-M Inspection services...?

I'm desperately hoping that that LS400 has had its cam belt done.
