The only thing to interest me is that that limiter has been raised to 174mph..... Not sure why the Germans have this 155 limit anyway, except to just annoy people.
'Gentlmen's agreement' between German manufacturers and Government (and their conscience) re sustainability (excess fuel use), safety (how many drivers would check their tyre pressures/fluids etc before a 190mph run?) and costs (would require more expensive tyres). Rumour has it it is also to do with retaining the last stretches of derestricted autobahn; without that the German manufacturer's differentiation (powerful saloons) would have no point and thus no market (and overseas halo effect).

TTRS plus is a fail. but a TTRS is a great car, all it needs is a geo like any Porsche , Lotus does.
A other reason I have one over a R8 is it's 4 years newer for the same price and nicer inside.
R8 is not that great imo , not that fast, and not that usable.

Had my TTRS for 2 years now was looking to change this year, but I cannot let it go yet, it's that good.

A very under rated car, and any one who has been in one set up right cannot say other wise.

As for st on track or not a drivers car lol

it's just beaten the GT2 RS . GT3 and GTR in the 2012 Targa Rally lol for a car 1/3 of the price.
They laughed at the poor guy last year when he bought it for rallying, they are crying now :-)

R8 not that usable? What nonsense. Goes better than a TT and looks better and is very comfortable.

Must be quite an achievement to make a 4sec to 60 / 175mph car dull to drive...

Hmmm... my 911 doesn't need geo but might be better for it. Also comment on the rally is ludicrous as driver ability is of far greater importance in a race than simply the car. I mean I'm sure if you put Michael Schumacher in a Hyundai Coupe S and asked him to race me around the Nurburgring after I'd been practicing for a month with me in the 911, he'd still kick my arse! Doesn't turn the Hyundai into a driver's car though but a 911 definitely is!

Obviously never driven one then? Because that is an absurd statement if I ever heard one.

Seeing as the TT-RS is such a poor seller, I'm suprised quattro GMBH didn't 'steal' a few more A3 Sportback bodyshells and make a few RS3+ for the people that missed out on them.

And I just can't understand why they think red on black wheels looks good?!

TTRS is easily quicker than its V8 bigger brother.

The official 0-100km/h time for this car is 4.1secs, 60 will therefore be a smidgen under 4 secs. Most independent tests put 60 at more like 3.6-3.7secs though.

Serious question for all the haters..... Is there a quicker accelerating car on the market today for sub £50k? I dont mean used, I mean brand new with warranty? Day to day drive aswell, none of this radical/caterham nonsense.

As for the TTRS+ picture, the only thing letting that car down is the ghastly alloys, opt for the standard alloys and its a fine looking car...

Spend £600 on these things and they put a lot of supercars to shame, spend £600 on a big engine N/A V10 car and you'll be lucky to get 10hp out of the thing. This car pushes above its weight and more. vbox performance figures confirm this with 0-100mph in low 7secs region, that is ferocious performance.

All the haters on here have probably never even seen a TTRS, they are a rare sight on the roads. As to track performance, they are okay, couple of mods and then they are playing with the big boys.

Seriously under rated cars and thats what makes them all the better :-)

Skoda coupe, I'm confused? Lamborghini/Bugatti/Porsche/Bentley, are they not part of the same gang that is also associated with Skoda?

BMW E92 M3 quick accelerating? What are you smoking? TTRS is in another league off the line, 0-60/0-100/1/4m

Modified M3 vs stock 340bhp TTRS (never mind the + model or a tuned RS)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CP_D335C-U

The tuned M3 eventually catches up at well north of 100mph, probably 140-150 or so.

Also, just like the M3, you can walk into an Audi showroom and grab a 10% discount on a brand new TTRS meaning you can pick these up for £45k no probs.

Interesting little chart here from car and driver...

Audi TTRS is the 3rd hardest launching car they have tested in front of the mighty GTR and 997TTS. To think the little Audi only has 340bhp too makes it even more impressive.

Its not for everyone, fair enough, but its not a bad little car. Awesome with a tune, really brings them alive.

Peace out.

The TT RS is nice little sports car (very rare to have rear seats in "proper" sports cars). I have the TTS and can only assume that the handling and raw power of the RS would be a level above the S.

But I think that Audi should have given the TT RS Plus more ponies and in red, its not looking great! On the TT forum, the guys say they get about 400 horses or more with a remap!

It's funny how everyone who actually owns a TTRS loves them.

In my view, they're very under-estimated, may be a little bland but can p1ss all over cars costing a lot more
