Isn't it the wrong badge to be mixing it in 100 grand company, not much more you are into Bentley, Aston and Lambo territory ?

And yet it'll be every good as a db9, for less money and more performance.

Absolutely. However, their new markets e.g. China will not be as bothered.

I used to think like that. Then sceptical me had an Aston for a week on loan. It's not just about what can be written down on paper.

Yup, but I'd say the badge and general "ambiance" is probably more important than the car's ability and statistics in this market.

interesting about the gt-r comparison, i never thought about that being a direct rival for some reason?
GTR screams track car/fast road car and can be seen on bedroom walls and wish lists - M6 whispers GT mile muncher very comfortable driving in my slippers and I could do with losing a few pounds (Car and driver) but happy in themselves not to do anything about it.

Thought the orig 6 sereis was the ugly duckling of the range and this is a lot better but not for me.

£100k for a BMW

This was always going to be the case. When the M6 Cab was released previously, it was the most expensive car on BMW's books.
More so than the 760Li?

I wonder what this will do to the residuals of the e63 M6 scratchchin
Probably nothing, with a 95k price tag you can pick up a more than sorted e63 for 25k. Sounds like a performance bargain to me.

They are close on price, 760li being a bit more, and even more so with options I suspect

Good looking car. Massive improvement on the last one which should help people that are interested get over the price tag! You need to have serious amounts of money to buy one of these and not be worried about the D word or have petrol in your veins.

Best looking product BMW have at the moment imho, it looks great.

Being picky, I'm not a fan of the reflectors under the rear lights, but overall it looks brilliant.

I'm sure it will be an epic drive also.

Oh, I like that. It appeals far more than an M5.

Don't get me wrong, love it, its an epic car but people buying at that level don't want the same badge as a 118D, and being realistic, Aston, Lambo, Porsche or BMW, they all will be plenty fast enough, and then some, for anyone, if they arent it is probably down to bragging rights at the Golf club, if it is on the road then you are probably need to look at how fast you are driving.

Good news about the decent brakes - as someone has said above, it is about time and befits a car of this price/performance.

But gold calipers...?! I know Merc already use red/orange and Ferrari/Maserati/Porsche have got red/yellow, but surely they could've found a less blingy colour than gold?!
They're doing this so they can charge you a bit more to change the colour to something nicer - like the obvious red / yellow. wink
