You could buy a nice used Lamborghini Gallardo for that
your point being? i don't think many people go "i need a car which is fast, quiet, comfortable and needs to carry 4 or 5 people in comfort as well as a weekend of luggage for us all" and comes away with a 2 seater sports car.

The best RS4 is the B5 IMO. Limited edition/run, subtle yet obvious to those in the know. Cosworth developed head, and almost endless additional tuning potential. Before that the RS2 in collaboration with Porsche, 0-30 faster than a McLaren F1...WOW!

These mass-produced RS4's just aren't as special in my book.

I could also get a new kitchen, bathroom and build a sunroom for the price of that RS4.

You would definitely be insane to buy a stupid Audi over a nice new kitchen, bathroom and sunroom

this is a big moment for audi. the RS5 isn't that old and has already proven not to be as dynamic as the M3, could Audi's 2nd chance at making an M3-beater fail?

the german power war is officially over.

i'm also surprised, we hear news of turbo charged cars and people saying "NA is better etc etc" and now, within the first few posts we get 2 people saying it needs turbo chargers. WTF confused
Are you surprised? You must know what this place is like by now, shirley.

it is funny, most modern audi's get slated for the steering yet there better than my B5 was, I found it quite dull to drive unless you where doing 140 in it

I was never bored tongue out

its still the best looking RS in my books

Boring, boring, boring. Audi seem to have lost the plot with this; the car looks like it has been made for people that have a fear of style (should suit librarians and accountants).

The back of it looks like a throwback from the 80's. I'm sure it will be available in only 3 colours; gold, brown and beige.

Strange. Read a couple of your previous threads and you seem like a relatively intelligent poster, so not sure whether you are taking the piss TBH.

Please confirm as I feel the need to ridicule you if not. biggrin

a lot of us like the stealthier look, less attention from boy racers, chavs keying them in car parks, BiB and thieves etc

especially in a time of austerity a 60k car that looks mostly like a 20k car is a good thing i think

In fairness...I need a nice comfortable, respectable, economical car with some nice gadgets that work and doesn't cost "the earth" to run
Ever since last week's "spotted" article, I've been up Maseratis

I'm sorry but a 60k car is not a cheap car and very few people spending that money want it to look plain boring.

Not fussed on the styling of this car but I guess would need to see one in the metal to make a proper judgment - and we'll have to see if it’s a much of a disappointment to drive as recent RS Audi's

But it has a good niche of being the only 4WD Estate car in its class [in the UK anyway - don’t know if merc make C63 Estates with 4WD in Europe] so it will sell for that reason alone

funny you say that. one of my close mates has a previous gen RS4 estate and that was one of the main reasons he bought it for.

he's had a 911 and a DB9 for the more showy cars but wanted something more subtle for the daily hack
