Another great video Mr Harris.

Just out of interest, how does one begin a career in car journalism......?

I was driving that very same road yesterday - it's a fantastic little stretch.

Unfortunately, I believe plans are afoot to reduce it from NSL to 40mph all the way through where this was shot.

Does anybody else think those red seats in the M5 look HORRENDOUS? Way too flabby and I also never think an interior looks premium when the steering wheel is a completely different colour to the seats..clearly not bespoke in any way. The new Boxster does better for far less money and I'm sure many others do too.

Troll - have you been in a recent Boxster? Not been in the latest M5 but the last one was more interesting smile

I'm physically torn between the two, but I think it'd have to be the M5 if it was the only car in the house hold. If I had an TDI estate lugger, it'd be the GT-R.

Yes, and seconded, how do you get a job in motor journalism?

Great Vid!

For once this video didn't give me anything I already know about them. I couldn't totally understand the point of this clip. Otherwise, it was nicely made and produced as usual.

I'd choose the M5 if it was more like a coupe with only 2 doors and more sleek lines.

Which is why I'd go and buy an M6 instead smile

Superb video, thanks Chris.

I realise you were only using the first half of the circuit for filming but it must feel very strange turning round and hoofing it the wrong way round the circuit, especially coming out of Quarry towards the blind crest back towards the start/ finish?

VDC was off for the track shots. Continuity mistake in the vid. Apols.

GT-R never becomes fully RWD - even at very big angles you have to be prepared for the centre diff to try and straighten the car.

If you think Quarry is bad in the right direction, it tightens horribly going the wrong way - with no run-off!!

Good video. I would be interested to hear what Chris thinks of a similarly thought provoking test a ways back where they compared the big heavy GT-R (a car which is light and agile next to the M5 in this context) and put it up against a Focus RS to wit which Autocar said on b-roads the GT_R could simply not keep up with the FORD nor would be as much fun as the FOrd. here...

I wonder if chris would have another view on the GTR than his old colleague Frankel at Autocar. J

That's quite an odd video. They talk about the RS being faster because of 'confidence' while at the same time showing a bunch of footage of the GTR accelerating away from it out of corners like it's standing still.
