Sacre Bleu!!!
What an amazing piece of television, raw & gritty, just how it should be, TBH it pisses all over The Wire.
It's basically a French Sweeney, with lots more guns, smoking, violence, more smoking, and a touch more violence!
Note:
Have you noticed the minimal/low key soundtrack?
It makes it so much more enjoyable not being 'told' what emotions to feel by the cheesy music that saturates modern TV & films these days.

I agree with the first statement most definitely, but the second is ridiculous, chalk and cheese. They are both kings in their field, but they are very different fields. It pisses over the Sweeney more like I think the length of the series at 8 is correct. I did get a bit of a wobble in the last ep with the stories all linking in, but it didn't go silly, which I was happy at.What an amazing piece of television, raw & gritty, just how it should be, TBH it pisses all over The Wire.

As I think of the Wire and Braquo, I genuinely struggle to see British quality of the same in the last ten years. Zen was good but three episodes long, same with Whitechapel. I guess our budget restricts us to mini-serials.

Yes, sorry about that, I'd just watched about 4 hrs worth in one go and got a little too excited! I'm not dissing The Wire, I loved it at the time, it's just that Braquo was so refreshing for being so direct & fast moving. As I think of the Wire and Braquo, I genuinely struggle to see British quality of the same in the last ten years. I'm looking for season 2 as we speak now!

I agree. I have been watching slow burning long serials recently, they all are. Made me forget about fast paced stuff, then wham, Braquo comes along and shows how it is done, probably even rewrites a few rules.I'm looking for season 2 as we speak now!
I know what you mean about excited, makes me want to go out and drive a Cayenne into a hole in the wall and nick it whilst shooting my pump action shotgun at the baddies! Like being a kid again
