Is it me, or is it about time Aston Martin redesign the car, I hope they are not doing the old jag way of thinking, just keep updating a dead horse and hope the punters buy into it.
I was just thinking that myself, I want to see a change of design!
Cannot be done with out major investment to replace the VH platform used across the range and licensed from Lotus wink

Next gen DBS is due early 2013 apparently. New DB9 will follow that.
It doesn't take genius to work out that the Virage is the DB9's replacement. I would just expect AM to phase out the DB9's production in the near future.

Well, if they're all starting to look the same, then maybe it's worth going down the classic route? Ergo:

Or, if you're adventurous, truly individual and enjoy bucking the trend (no, that's a 'b' by the way...):

Dare to be different?

So if it is a couple grand more expensive than the DB9 was, which it would be likely to be and it would almost certainly have more horsepower? Where would that put the Virage? Also why would they bring out a replacement for the DBS before the DB9? Judging by the way AM have worked in the not-so-distant past, AM would start selling the less expensive, less raw car first.

£84,995 seems good value. How much was the 6 series featured last week ? £20K more ?

15k more but yes without options it does look better value than a BMW at the moment.

The only solution I can see in the medium term, is a takeover by Tata. Without access to a Jag part bin they are going to struggle.

There are plenty of websites saying the DBS is going to be out first - http://www.leftlanenews.com/aston-martin-dbs-2013....

That article just states that the replacement DBS is out in 2012. 'DB9 in 2013?' Implies that they do not know.

Still, if they did release a DB9 replacement, where does that put the Virage?

that article is talking about cosmetic changes and some tweaks to the engine. Hardly 997 to 991 style changes going on over at Aston.

What sense would that make? It would put them in direct market competition with the XK (which was part of the problem whilst the company was under Ford ownership)...

Why don't you go and ask a dealer? Also read the Aston forum, a few people went for a sort of open day at Gaydon where Dr. Bez stated about the new DBS, and also the V12V roadster. If you can show me what evidence you have when every bit of it that I can find points to the DBS being launched first, then I will take your point of view seriously.

Funnily enough I did just that on Saturday at Cambridge Aston Martin. I put my views forward, the salesman told me, 'You're good, you should come and work for us!'

The only piece of evidence you showed me points to the DBS being released in 2012 (nothing to the order of when or what other cars are going to be released) which at the moment I am not disputing!

The V8 Vantage is one of the best looking cars of all time. Love the hatchback, too. Although it may be due to a lack of money that it's not replaced I prefer it this way. Keep on tweaking, and make it a classic, just like the 911, dr Bez.

M6 was something like 92 or 93k wasn't it.

mind, the V8 vantage won't hold a candle to it for performance (it's WAY down on power isn't it....130-140bhp less) or interior quality, but it certainly does for styling and badge...and noise!!

I'll concede on the power, but interior? Have you seen the AM interior, every surface is leather, aluminium or glass. Its beautifully done. I've never seen a car where even the inside of the door near the hinges is leather.

Aston seem to have completely lost their way on wheel design.

Haven't seen a set on any of their recent stuff that I've liked.

Pity .... because the cars are generally beautiful.
