I'm off to Waitrose to peruse the sausage counter - feeling very peckish!

Okay, so 550d, I am sure not a 5 litre, but something doesn't add up.

Take two 123d's, add togther, and that's 400bhp at least, sounds silly, as 381bhp is plenty, but really what's the point unless it's a brutal monster, as 300bhp out the 535d is plenty and then if you have that much money you may as well invest in petrol.

As this thread confirms, the sausage is definitely more interesting than the car.

They look like Weisse Wurst so the sauce would be a sweat mustard. They are cooked as the are basically veal sausage so are very pale and very delicious but you have to peal them before eating as the skin isn't really part of the experience.

I hope we get more info - were they good, did they peel easily (a sign of quality)?
Count me out on the mustard

It's an advert for Sixt rental cars.

The Weisswurst is a Munich speciality, symbol of the city even. So BMW and Weisswurst ... and Sixt makes you feel at home.

Lifted from elsewhere - http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyI...

(0-60) 4.7 seconds for the saloon and 4.9 seconds for the Touring. The 5-series manages 44.7mpg in saloon form and 44.1mpg in estate shape.

I can see the case for it. Some people want a fast car, but do too many miles to justify the petrol.

I did as any responsible editor should do and rang him to make sure he'd drunk a suitable wheat beer to accompany said wurst. One must keep up with local tradition and all.

Count me in on that list... I do about 40k a year, cant afford that much gas... Most of the time I am just cruising on highways but, whenever in Germany, Austria, Swiss or Italy I do appreciate the extra hp...

If you call him again, The Airbräu is in the covered plaza between terminals one and two, and they have a micro brewery in the resturaunt. Its Starkbierzeit as of yesterday in Munich, so all the brewerys are now selling their ~8% strong beer. Might be worth a stop on the way home wink

I had this in Berlin in 2006.
I promised myself I'd never have it again.
I mistakenly ordered it in NY last week
I've promised myself I'll never order it again...i'm sorry but it looks and tastes awful.
