Unlike ford who just make a few changes here and there and run the same underpinnings Vauxhall often ditch the entire platform and start again.

I meant in terms of the body shape in response to the people who said why haven't vx done anything radical with the shape of the car. Obviously you are correct in that the platform/tech/interior are totally new.

Not my idea of a 'sporty' looking interior, and that steering wheel is awful!

It's a nice enough looking car and I'm sure it goes/handles well enough, but I'm afraid I couldn't spend that sort of money on it.

I'd rather have a Clio 197 and save a lot of money, it's the closest to my idea of a hot hatch money can buy IMO.

Bland black plastic like any other fast eurobox Golf R32/S3 e.t.c. All pretty similar but then people want to play it safe I suppose.

jesus! 27k! for a bland looking hot hatch?!

this car makes the Focus RS look like the bargain of the century, its was released with an rrp of 25k! for 300bhp.

sort it out vauxhall, you can get some truly great cars for that, fully specced were looking at 30k?

You could, but these are both us companies with competing cars.
