Mondeo estates are cheaper than equivalent Audi, BMW or Mercedes too i'm sure...... so your point makes no sense.

This does offer something unique and desirable over the German marques you mentioned though. This is a British car with Style.

Sit in an basic 2.2 XF, then sit in a basic 520d. Then tell me where you'd rather sit to do 25k PA.

I think the only car I've seen where that combination was passable was an S2 Elise. Other than that hurl

No mention of AWD for the American market yet?

So excited by this car. I'm ordering my 3.0S very soon!

By the way, the car pictured is an 3.0 S.

It has a different front bumper and the side skirts from an XFR that help you tell it from the 3.0 non 's' and the 2.2. smile

Take your point Steve, but interested to know how reliable the XF's are?

My guess is :'reliable enough to not worry'

My Sales Manager is running one but he's only done 6k so far in it (3 months) and it hasn't broken down yet smile

I'd guess it won't be a consideration. No car is 100% reliable, be it british, german or italian. My experience of Jags is pretty good though. Certainly better than Landrover or Alfa. (I currently run an Alfa, but got warned off a Range Rover by God)

Ah but, the XF when it came out was competing agains the E60/61. Now the 'Sportbrake' is competing against the F10. I'd be interested to know what Jaguar have done to bring it forward 'so' much so it can sell against a well developed car (i'm guessing the F10 is well developed!).

Apologies, I'm sure it's lovely. smile

It's a combination that looks fine on a small roadster IMO but absolutely dreadful on a big exec car/SUV.

I always liked the XK with black wheels, had to be the bright red paint (chilli red?) though. Not sure it would work on an estate.

A colour like Aston Martins 'California Sage' would have been amazing on this.

For me the the BMW wins hands down, the Jaguar is prettier for sure but I just don't get the hype surrounding its interior.

First glance at the front end, It's begining to look a little Audi with the deep front grill and lower air intake. Light are undoubtedly Jag though.

That surprises me as I thought they were doing well. What's the problem with their volumes?
