If they have offered like for like why not get proactive and pick an Icon from the Mazda dealer network?

A quick search shows quite a few? 6.5k is taking the piss though, more like 8.
They have said that it should be from the dealers stock, first stumbling block, they don't have any frown I have found a few on their own sites, but not exact like for like, so I shall be asking why these are not being considered. I will, of course, take newer with similar spec, but it will be second hand so certainly not older or less spec...
If I can go onto the Mazda site, pick the car I want and have it delivered to my local dealer, I don't see why they can't do the same for you.

I would literally be hassling them and short of fire-bombing the dealership, making their lives absolute hell. You sound like a nice person but the sad truth of it is, nicities will get you nowhere. You need to start getting really assertive and demanding and in a way, become a b***h.

When you get your replacement, sell it privately and use the money to get something else, if you aren't comfortable with another MX-5. I'll just say our '10 Anniversary model has been great with no problems, it could just be bad luck.

I'm looking forward to picture of the lemon wrap now. smile

I got cold feet... Didn't follow up the press thing. Wish I did, and it's never too late wink

That's funny!

But, joking aside, a reason for buying the mx5 was that these things are usually unheard of. I guess it's a test of how Mazda rectify it now?

wait a minute, you're contemplating spending £1920 on a wrap?

mstet said:
They want to give me £7.5k for mine but this is around £1.5-£2k less than similar models at those dealers - am I expected to pay the difference??!!
Take the 7.5k they offer you, and the money you would pay for a wrap and go and buy something not Mazda, and enjoy it, you should have rejected the car a long time ago but there isn't much you can do about it now.

This way 100% you get a happy result, wrap way, well they might bow down and give you a car just to make you go away but they may play hardball and go down the lawyer route and that could take a while and some money to boot.

once you have their money, well tell your story to everyone....

only other thing I can think of is write to the judge in the Sunday Mail, or see what a lawyer thinks.

just my opinion.

the plates at £19 would be more cost effective

I actually don't want to do any of these things. I was hoping to negotiate and put this matter to rest, it's just not a two way thing...

If it were me, I'd probably now be at the stage where I'd be close to being done for harassment of Mazda UK.

They have no incentive to do so, and haven't done so before, so I guess the answer is no.

What are you expecting them so say ? What have them promised you ?

If Mazda UK don't have the basic courtesy to reply, try Mazda Europe > newsmmepress@mazdaeur.com with individual emails marked F.A.O. each of the people on this list: http://www.mazda.com/publicity/release/2005/200504...and all the people on this list : http://www.mazda.com/publicity/release/2012/201205... copying in your Mazda UK contact each time, with details of your story and perhaps a copy to this link and what you expect them to do about it. Worried about upsetting Mazda UK ? They don't even have the courtesy to reply to you !

FWIW, I'm not normally this bolshy and I own 2 Mazdas myself, I just think this is a shocking story of apalling 'service' from Mazda UK... so far.
