JSquaredJim said: Nowt wrong with Hendy. if you're having a particular problem with this specific dealership, and it sounds like you are, just E mail Steven Hendy direct. He's a top bloke and will kick whatever ass needs kicking right away. Good luck with your case and hope this doesn't put you off the MX5. I agree JSquaredJim... The guys in Hendy are fab! However, I drew this car to Stephen Hendy's attention after the third attempt to replace the seat - the car was just six months old, probably wouldn't be having these issues if he took an interest back then? Or followed it up?

These hendy guys might be great but after this thread I wouldn't go near them with yours!
Is it reeeally that hard to just fix the damn car? We are talking about a Mazda after all.

Why do you have to return the courtesy car when they still ahve your car?
Keep it until they resolve the problem.
Have a word with the Service Manager.
And when its returned trade it in.
You could always start a "What Car?" thread on here with "anything BUT an MX-5" criteria.

Are the repercussions of a year of having water in the boot and under the seat going to materialise in other ways?! I will not give up, I have invested too much time, energy and passion into fighting for what is rightlfully mine - a perfect car...

Ah thanks GreatGranny, but they told me they had a customer waiting to use the courtesy car they had given me.. The service manager is the one who took the car back off me They are offering me a pitance for trade in as they say it can only go to auction because of it's history - I should take the loss?!? The thread you allude to is not long coming - as is a press statement actually... And probably my priory bill if I do end up losing the plot - only so much you can take

And probably my priory bill if I do end up losing the plot - only so much you can take If they (Mazda or Dealer?) have stated that the car is worth less because of it's history, then you have every right to expect the difference to be covered by Mazda UK. The issues have prevailed since day one (month 6), and therefore they occurred when the car was sold with a new car warranty. Contrary to popluar opinion amongst garages, the warranty is valid if a fault is found within the term, not if the fault is rectifies within the term. Mazda are normally superb at this type of thing though, If they had decent higher end cars I would be driving them myself.

If it were me I wouldn't trust the car and I'd always be wondering "what next". If it was me I would be fighting to get it fully repaired and then I would get rid. And my replacement car would not be a Mazda from Hendys! Alternatively you could have the car back now, have it sign written in vinyll down the side (in Mazda brand font) listing all the faults and issues with the car. Someone once did it to landrover and it got there attention. You can read about it here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/motoring/article-119034...

So, today is day 19 of my car still being at the dealers and day 4 of having no transport I have now spoken with Graeme Fudge, Director of PR and Robert Hancock, Manager of Customer Service at Mazda UK, let's see what materialises... Thanks for all of your posts, you have definitely given me the determination to see this through!
