Pesty, please keep this thread updated, I keep looking at these as a replacement for my Accord.
For those that are interested in these some thoughts from today. First day of driving.
so far love it.
Very nice on the motorway. Quite happily drive it more sedately than usual. Will still have to remember to stop my habit of flooring it for green and yellow lights.
On the worst roads of sheffield the ride got very jiggley, christ that council needs a slap.(reporter mode on )compromised(/off) rest of the time fine nice to drive.
Steering is quite numb but not a problem.
Trip computer said I averaged 31.5MPG which is encouraging as today I did a lot of city center driving so fairly surprised. I have filled it and will be checking properly.
Had to park in one of my tightest multi stories. Actualy had not much problem i went in a space I would not have attempted in the 407.
But its wide you have to park perfectly straight and perfectly in the middle or one side will be over the line. as it is today I was dead straight and had about an inch to spare each side. I imagine I will get lots of parking dents.
Neat things about parking. The wing mirrors tilt down when you go in reverse which means you get a very good view for reversing.
The parking sensorts have a visual display that you can see in the rear view mirror.
I knew it was big and that this would be a problem but Im sure I will get used to it.
Stereo is excellent as is Sat nav
Pro: 20gig hard drive means I have inherited the last owners Ipod library
Con: I have inherited the last owners ipod library. Not found teh delete button yet.
Two things I really don't like.
1) handbrake sorry footbrake, This is going to take a while to get used to and I will have probably broken it by then. Keep forgeting to use the release handle.
2) this one is really strange for a first released in 2006.
The petrol cap is locking! Yes the cap not the flap. I think it was early 80's the last time I saw this. Having to use a key every time to get fuel in seems a massive ball ache after 20 odd years of not having to.
Oh and worlds biggest car with worlds smallest glove box.
