What I'm wondering is, if the stock spec car can do 190mph(can't remember exact), then with more than double the power, it's only able to go 'that' much faster?
I think this car is more about the acceleration than raw top speed. I have watched the video 4 times now and the way it climbs to 210 is simple astonishing, great job lads!

Also...how long between rebuilds/explosions?

Sorry but don't see the point of these "cars" at all rolleyes

I'm an R35 owner, by the way.
You might as well ask how long a Veyron, Ferrari or Lambo will last without major work.
Or in case of italian exotica - without a fire.

I always laugh at this argument. How much for a set of Veyron tyres again? How much for a Lamborghini clutch? How much to repair the fire damage to your Ferrari?

You can buy a complete R35 engine for a set of Veyron tyres if/when you get mechanical failure due to overtuning. You can replace the turbo for the price of a service. So the point of these cars is obvious. If you want to go as fast as a Veyron but don't fancy paying several hundred thousand Pounds a year on consumables then go to Seven Valley with your R35 and reasonably blank cheque.

The negativity on here is so disappointing sometimes.

Amar,
Well done chap, you and your team have done something really special and should be proud. So the stylings not to many, or my, liking buy God damn it the engineering looks to be top rate. Great to hear that a British tuning shop is up there with the best the Yanks have to offer, as big power Supra's, Skyline's and GTR's seem to be their forte if YouTube is anything to go by!

Again, well done and keep up the good work!

You would think on a dedicated car site like this we would be celebrating a number of things;

A fast car that goes like stink
A UK company that has carried out the work and achieved this
That despite the world around us, people still want to go lunatic fast and push the limits

The tuning scene has always been about pushing the boundaries and seeing what can be done. I don't get whats wrong with that, it's not a daily driver, it might blow up it might not.

The end result is that build and set up are tried and tested at their very maximum - that way a company can advise a customer according to what kind of power and car they want to get out of the tuning process.

You can't vouch for a tuning product if you haven't taken it to it's limit. Many customers will end up fitting elements of the package, but I would far rather go to someone to tune my car that had produced a car like this.

Fast cars being made to go faster - what is not to like?

I guess the diesel vs petrol threads and sniggering at the paintwork is more constructive though!

Were SVM not heavily involved in modifying Sierra and Escort Cosworths years ago or do I need more Electric Shocks?

Yep. They were big into Fords.

So having this makes perfect sense to show people what they are now up to. If you'd have asked me before this story I'd have only mentioned them in relation to ford.

Here here! For all those extolling the virtues of the Veyron saying it will do those speeds "all day every day" are forgetting two very important factors.

1) The Veyron costs £1m to buy, the GT-R probably cost £100k including mods.
2) The Veyron requires servicing every 6000 miles at a cost of £13k, tyres need to be changed every 2500 miles at a cost of £23k and the alloys wheels needs to be replaced every 10000 miles at a cost of £30k. Enough to afford several engine rebuilds on this GT-R.

Sort of blows the theory that a Veyron is more everyday useable than this highly tuned GT-R out of the water.

are the veyron and this thing not completely different propositions? Why are we comparing them?

No idea - I guess in terms of straight line speed the Veyron is benchmark of sorts for comparison.

Pointless though, I think the GTR should be appreciated for what it is smile

We are comparing them because the article does. The very last line mentions that this GT-R is faster accelarating then the Veyron. No in many ways the two cars aren't comparable in the slightest but in terms of "who is the fastest" willy waving contests, the Veyron is a very good and well known benchmark.

ok but did it not turn into more of a "which has the biggest boot" type argument?
