You would think on a dedicated car site like this we would be celebrating a number of things;
A fast car that goes like stink
A UK company that has carried out the work and achieved this
That despite the world around us, people still want to go lunatic fast and push the limits
The tuning scene has always been about pushing the boundaries and seeing what can be done. I don't get whats wrong with that, it's not a daily driver, it might blow up it might not.
The end result is that build and set up are tried and tested at their very maximum - that way a company can advise a customer according to what kind of power and car they want to get out of the tuning process.
You can't vouch for a tuning product if you haven't taken it to it's limit. Many customers will end up fitting elements of the package, but I would far rather go to someone to tune my car that had produced a car like this.
Fast cars being made to go faster - what is not to like?
I guess the diesel vs petrol threads and sniggering at the paintwork is more constructive though!
Well said. And the paint job is surley an advert for the business, so why would you run one in plain white or black?A fast car that goes like stink

I say very well done the the SVM boys, and as for the brits, again its a nice change its these guys and not Top secret or JUN of japan.
I remember the Ford Cossies these lot used to tune, and were mag featured. They know their stuff, and the way this GTR flies upto 200mph....its just stunning!
I'm hoping its as reliable as it is fast, and makes it to 'Ten of the best' would love to see how it fairs up against some other tuners cars.

Site is worth a look if you actually like fast cars, and are entertained by excess! and erm dont bother if your an mpg king and think fast cars like this GTR are pointless.... :-)

What's with all the negativity? Is everyone just doing the typical British thing of trying to put down someone else's achievement.
Well said - that is exactly what is happening here! Why can't we just be happy that a small, UK based company of specialists has given a bloody nose to some much more well funded and well equipped companies? Like the car or not, it's an advert, and a bloody good one at that, for their technical ability. As for the look, I wouldn't want my road car to look like that, but it's eye-catching and memorable, which are fairly important when advertising.Morning All,
As I stated in a previous posting on this thread, We were expecting the Americans to come back very quickly......233.1 mph is a awesome speed that has been achieved. Records are there to be broken, it is how one excels in life !
We have had a team meeting and are working on a come back, We don't give up that easily !.
Let's have some support from all you Petrol Heads and let's get that Record back to the UK ASAP !!!!!
Regards

Why, just because it's tuned up, do these people always have to ruin a perfectly good car with a stty, tasteless paint job. What a muppet.
Firstly, to the builders, well done! An amazing feat for a small British firm and the car looks absolutely mental, can't even begin to comprehend how that must feel at full bore.Secondly, to the quoted line from Mat C, grow up you moron. If you had bothered to the thread, both the chap from SVM and multiple posters have said that the simple reason for a lairy paint job is publicity. Gets people talking, gets them known ergo they win business.

It's purely to flush out the morons who don't understand the word 'promotional' so we can put them on the derp register. Congratulations, you made the list.DE_GODFATHER said:

Why not aim for the 246 mph record of the GT40 TT (with 1800hp)?

What difference would it make ?
was interested to see how tasteful his own car was, simple.if this is so bad, then show us your own better example?
Too many ppl on here slagging of this machine, which is actually very impressive, and needs more praise for the efforts, and sheer commitment to the project.
What’s the point of slagging off this GTR? b'cos of its colour? Stickers? it fits the purpose the owner intended it for, why can’t ppl see that?
no one entered it for best looking car of the year award did they?
its fast, and it says so and is an advert for SVM. Perfect.
