Hi all,

stuff about parts . . . . but records are set to be broken, as long as we have the determination we will try and keep it in the UK for as long as we can !
Bloody right! And what's more I hope you do hang on to it too (we all know about those "over optomistic" american rollers wink ). I hope Hulk generates much kudos, PR and future business as possible.

What a patriotic bunch we are on here. not. rolleyes

You would never buy a car if you applied that logic. Or anything much for that matter!

What a stupid thing to say.

To be a real pedant you are actually wrong in this case - SVM will have drummed up far more business than the mods cost so it was actually a very good investment for them.
This is true, there's a fair few GTR's now running SVM upgrade kits now. Not sure on costs but apparently they're also a lot cheaper than the equivalent Jap upgrades from companies like HKS.

I'd like to see what the AMS car could do head to head with this actually, seems like on it's latest video their GTR is on a downhill dragstrip!

I know SVM, lovely bunch of blokes who do normal servicing / maintenance, MOTs as well as this

Great to see a small BRITISH business delivering the goods - rather than criticize they should be congratulated

me too - I grew up in telford and was on the road early 1990's in the days when SVM were playing with Ford Cosworths (Sierra, Escort and transits!) at the bototm of the hill in Ironbridge.

well done fellas. brilliant to see the business still going strong.

You're a miserable bd aren't you?

As another poster said, "Why do we do ANY of the things we do?" This car is good at drag racing - it may be good at other things, but that's good enough for me!

Don't know how or why you find a car that fast unimpressive. Reckon it was an easy feat do you? You know this is a forum for petrol heads, right?
My suspicion is that you're trolling for attention.
I think the article pretty much sums it up along with other people's comments about.........no one would have guessed that at the moment the fastest GTR in the world has been created by a small tuning company in the UK!

The point is to beat the Yanks/Japs and at the moment we're winning biggrin Isn't that the point with any race/competition/world record attempt?
Indeed.

Miserable, yeah, I got the man-flu today...

Trolling ? Come off it, I was just left a bit cold by it, despite the considerable effort that has gone into the car. I'll try not to post anything other than blind agreement with the herd next time, so as not to upset anyone rolleyes
"The Point" of the car is patently obvious to anyone with half an interest in the tuning scene - so your comment of "what's the point" seemed to trolling to me.
..and me.

It's not about 'following the herd' - you don't have to like it/appreciate it, but I'd have thought that everyone on here would/should at least understand why someone else would like it/appreciate it.

What's with all the negativity? Is everyone just doing the typical British thing of trying to put down someone else's achievement.
Well said. Just the usual negativity from people. This is a small company with probably little or no support from the bank or any other agencies trying to make a name for themselves. Whether you get the scene or not, they should be commended on trying to do better than other people.

We should not knock these companies and others like them, we should try and use them and priase them.

Support your local company!!

power is not the issue, it's squeezing more and more power out of a car that was shipped with a lot less for a reason. Vids of cars like this always make me glad i'm not driving, rather than wish i was! So twitchy, so much wheelspin. Yea crazy but I don't want it on my drive. I was on youtube yest checking out exploding engines and diffs and things on the dragstrip though so maybe that's influenced it a bit.

Mental bit of kit.

SVM doing quite a few big power GTRs now and they have customer car aiming for 1,200BHP or so using an AMS kit.

Also...how long between rebuilds/explosions?

Sorry but don't see the point of these "cars" at all rolleyes

I'm an R35 owner, by the way.
Massive publicity for the company , millions of boyracers heading down to get some of that , shall i go on.

Ive never seen a speedo go that mental before.

I know a guy who used to own a 650R GT-R and had it tuned by SVM.
I had a chat with him last night and he was singing praises about Amar and the SVM team.
I don't like that some of you guys seem to be haters. The green and lambo doors and everything is not to everyones taste (even mine) but the engineering seems to be second to none.

Amazing progress lads, keep it going! I may be coming to you in the near future! wink

Good stuff, be interested in what it could do in the dry and with abit of aero work- surely if they want real hypercar speeds the still stock looking bodywork has to be "massaged" (less wing and intakes)

Give it a big (non-road legal) tail and it'd probably crack 240 as it is power wise.

The guy getting a 1200 conversion has easily spent 60k+ but to be fair a lot of the work he's having done is full on customization and one off stuff.

Around 4k will get you to 750BHP relatively easily.

AWESOME CAR. AWESOME PAINT JOB. Wondering what tyres are fitted. Highest speed rating is up to 186mph, tyre must be under some crazy amount of stress. I hope people keep building cars like this and pushing the boundaries. Its amazing what can be done! Keep up the good work please.

It is an epically impressive car no doubt. And so massive congratulations for that.

It's annoying though how it doesn't have normal/subtle paint and gernerally tasteful design extras.
Most people out there with enough £ to mod a GTR wont be boyracer chavs.
The image of the whole company will be ruined if they continue the way they are.
