Valid point and well said. But feedback here is cheaper than a 2k per day research group and refreshingly BS free. No need to trawl through a 164 page report - these are your bulletpoints. In my experience, passionate and enthusiastic people often lack objectivity because they're so close to their product - and they don't like criticsm. As a passionate and enthusiastic person in my own market, I try and battle my insular instincts.

If I was at Zolfe I'd be taking notes - plus PMing the souls who expressed an interest. They only need to make a few sales a year and there have been more than a few positive comments - I wonder how many PHers will end up ultimately buying one though? Anyone here seriously considering one?

I don't know, I like the idea of light cars and good BHP, but trying to ask people to part with £38K for this is just a joke. The build quality looks basic at best, but the main problem is there is mush better competition out there.

No point making the car ultra light if the wallet is still weighing it down.

You say the "specialist car builders..........try to produce a motor that people will want to buy" then you go on to say "doesn't matter how technically brilliant you are at designing a great performing car (styling excluded"......Is that not a little contradictory? In one breath you're saying it needs to be attractive to buyers to shell out their hard earned, then later you virtually admit that it's less than attractive???? I'm sorry but go back through the history of the motor car and I think you'll find it's looks that sell cars. OK some clever devils will come up with the odd exception but principally, it's the beauty of the cars asthetics that come first in the majority of cars.

This. Although maybe not the colour wink

We should be encouraging small companies not berating there efforts. In my experience the specialist car builders (typicaly one or two man band with not alot of capital) try to produce a motor that people will want to buy, and there efforts are usually driven more by passion than profit. It doesn't matter how technically brilliant you are at designing a great performing car (styling excluded wink ), running a company successfully requires a whole different skill set. It's why most companies are run by accountants. Its also why many fail.

So before you slag off the looks of this car, just spend a moment thinking about the time, effort, and passion that the guy behind it has put into it. And perhaps be a little more appreciative.

Rant over.

You compared that to a B6? Really?

Ok so it has wide arches, as does a B6, but one of them is one of the most beautiful cars ever, the other looks like they have been stuck on by halfords.

Love the concept, but the styling... no thanks.

Zolfe says "Can you tell what it is yet? Nah mate, me neither..."

Now the TVR Taimar, sorry, CWR Titan on the other hand isn't bad.

Personally I quite like the styling. On first glance it reminded me of an M series TVR at the front and a tuscan racer at the back. The only bit I'm not too sure on are the wheel arches. If I was in the market for a practical track toy that could double up as a weekend toy aswell then I'd be interested. I would like to see more of the interior as I suspect that may let it down at that price.

Good luck to him. I hope a few people buy them then in 5 years time I can look for a used version. I always fancy a caterfield but the practicalities put me off, this may well be the answer.

why compare this to a Ginetta G40...??? 150 bhp versus a whole lot more with the Zolfe.

It's a true club-racer. It looks like it comes with everything you'd need to hoon it at a track-day, plus you could drive home in relative comfort. I think it's a cracker!!

Agreed the price is a tiny bit steep I think - esp given what you can get a 12 month old Exige for nowadays - but (as an ex-7 owner) I bet the Zolfe is a lot easier to drive at the limit than an Exige.

I'd spec one in metallic black with orange highlights and an orange cage - 280bhp and an LSD. This would do me fine (Zolfe, if you're listening can I have a test drive please..?)

I hope a video of this test drive review is released soon.

It looks a little disjointed but to my eye that's not all that uncommon for British sports cars be it Marcos, Austin Healey, etc. .

I look at this and i think "TVR S". Which can only be a good thing because that will mean the Griffith equivalent comes next!
