Upgraded to Z4 35i DCT
Oddly, and I never thought I'd say it, I kinda miss my Z4. I too had 35i DCT which I found good, but ultimately unsatisfying. Looked great and went pretty well but lacked the urgency and poke of the Boxsters I've had since.
However, it was quite refined and a much better grand tourer. The daily grind to the office was quite enjoyable, where the Boxsters may be a bit too 'sporty' for daily use (whatever I mean by that).
I much prefer the Porsche for a spirited run, but as an allrounder I think the E89 suits me better.

Enjoy it, they're getting on a bit now so enjoy them while you can. smile

A rare sight for my car but it comes off occasionally.

Really? What engines do they have?
I'd have guessed at about 5 litres. paperbag

The Sunbeam has a Ford V8 of 5 litres, yes. A lot of raw fun

Got the 380SL out for a warm-up on a distinctly wintery day. The fabric hood needs replacing so it’s al fresco or hard top atm.

Defines the kind of class Mercedes used to exhibit. Lovely car.
Yep, second car on this thread I've had to log in to comment on

Please take care of her, she's stunning
Thank you both, appreciate the comments. Totally agree the 1980s SL is one of the great designs. No flashy scoops, swoops, strakes or spoilers, just deftly drawn lines, and a well placed touch of chrome. Bliss.
.
They do look good. I hankered after a SL500 R129 model. I was told I wouldn't get on with it by long time SL owner Zonegem and he was right. just didn't gel at all
