My brother's taken two days off to explore Welsh roads in his Boxster and has bumped into the Evo lot with the Subaru on the A4069…

Great intel...can't wait to see the results of this comparison road test.

What exactly does this engine rev too, they seem to make quite a song and dance about it in that video, even hinting that they were struggling to get 7000rpm reliably in the early days. Then you see the tach and it seems to redline at 7250ish which seems pretty er, normal. A 1996 honda civic would better that by quite a distance, makes you wonder how much of a tosh factor is in the rest of their speel.
Struggling to get reliability, i dont think so. Have a dig around for the 2006 JDM spec C impreza that was a 2.0l H4 engine that revs all the way upto over 8000rpm.

My current scooby has a 3.0l H6 engine and is happy to go upto 7700rpm.
2.0L H4 will rev to 10,000rpm if required. smile
