After seeing one today for the first time today I've realised an Ariel Atom would suit my needs perfectly, actually maybe not! biggrin

Another Ferrari for me.

So much better looking than a 458.

I usually prefer my every day classics, but this may be my favourite Ferrari at the moment...

575 is one of Ferrari's best efforts IMO, i remember all those years ago in 2002 i saw my first one on the road in Rosso and it looked stunning.

I'm properly considering one as my next car. This one is close to me, and I can afford to insure/buy it (surprisingly)but it's the 190hp VVTL-I version and I can't help but think the 140hp version would be far more sensible biggrin I really like it in yellow though.

I would stick it out for the 190 model. I've considered them myself, just because they aren't a million miles away from an Integra Type R DC2 (a car that is becoming increasingly hard to find for any decent sort of price, and I don't fancy paying over the odds for one). The Celica even has a change in cam profile at the top end, though IIRC the lift on the Celica/Corolla T Sport comes in at 6000-6200rpm which is a little bit higher than the Honda VTEC zone.

They're nice cars to sit in, though the interior is a bit iffy in places. I like some of the digital dash components, but the interior overall isn't one of Toyota's best. The gear change is workable and the stubby little shifter is fun, they handle quite well too. The thing I dislike most is the back end, which they have tried to revive from the Celica GT4 ST185. It looks much better on the ST185 though, it looks rather abrupt on the last generation Celicas.

Thanks for the insight, and yeah, the back end looks a little weird, especially without a spoiler. I also much prefer the facelifted front end. Weirdly though, I actually like it in yellow redface

I walk past one of these almost every day and it always gets me thinking, surely they can't drive as well as they look?

Yes, it doesn't look too bad in yellow though I would prefer a deeper, more lustrous yellow. That yellow paint dulls quite quickly, though unlike say, the last SEAT Leon Cupra R, it doesn't turn into a 'Jun Super Lemon' kind of colour, it just fades and looks quite muted. I've seen a couple of MR2's of the same generation which looked great when they came out but look pretty naff now.

True; more likely I'd go for one in that deep blue or maybe silver to be honest. I like red too, but with the amount of faded red Toyotas I've seen, I'd be wary of that colour too. Yellow is supposedly the safest colour on the road though, and I can see why!

Well I'm pretty sure they're FWD only, though if memory serves you can get a 3.2 V6 version. Or a diesel... smile
